DJ Matoom Candidly Addresses Crane Collapse: A Result of Carelessness, Public Safety Must Come First

After the crane collapse incident on the railway in Si Khio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, as well as another crane collapse on Rama 2 Road causing injuries and fatalities, there has been intense criticism on social media regarding these repeatedly occurring events.

Recently DJ Matoom Techin Ploypetch also posted a message about the crane collapse issue, with a caption saying “14/01/26 May all souls rest in peace.” The message read as follows:

"Let me speak frankly for once, because this is no longer a distant issue. In many countries, large-scale construction projects choose to “close” areas, suspend services, or redirect traffic until it is safe enough. They do not put the public at risk.

But in our country, construction work is done alongside actual use. How many times have we driven on roads under excavation, drilling, or demolition? How many times have we looked up and seen heavy concrete, machinery, and workers above us? And honestly, when will something fall on us? No one knows, and no one can guarantee safety.

Many say, “It’s just an accident.” Yes... no one denies that, and no one wants accidents to happen. But incidents like these are not accidents of fate; they are serious accidents caused by carelessness. And they are preventable with serious planning and prioritizing public safety first, not second.

This way, we won’t have to count bodies or losses repeatedly. From the start of the year until now, law-abiding citizens who live and pay taxes are exhausted and disheartened. Frankly, may all souls rest in peace, and may this loss no longer be dismissed as just an “accident.”"
