Fans of the show were puzzled when the well-known news anchor and host Noom Kanchai Karnploy had yet to cut his hair. Many viewers commented and asked him repeatedly when they saw him hosting various programs.
Recently, Muay Arisara a female news anchor, asked Noom Kanchai on the program "Midday News" on Channel 3 why he was growing his hair long. Noom replied, “Honestly, I must apologize (puts hands together in a wai). Many people have told me to cut my hair, but I really can’t right now. To be clear, I’m filming a movie.”
“I’m shooting a film directed by Khom (Kongkiat Khomsiri), who directed ‘Tiger’ and ‘Khun Phan.’ The character I play has somewhat long hair—it’s a retro-style movie. Starting next week, you might not see my hair because we’re going into scenes. Filming has begun.”
“But I’m not revealing the title yet. There are many co-stars including Weir (Sukollawat Kanarot), Tu Poptorn, and Dang Pankorn. It’s a gangster genre, so I have to keep my hair long. Just wait and see.”
“Actually, I’ve been growing it for a long time, but the hairstylist kept trimming it, so I wondered why it wasn’t getting longer for years. Later I found out the stylist was secretly cutting it bit by bit. From now on, no more trimming, so I’m letting it grow wild. Just wait and see. It should be a new kind of film that many Thai audiences haven’t seen before. Will it be out this year? I believe it will be late this year, and it’s fun.”
