This sparked divided opinions among netizens; many criticized the act as inappropriate, noting even biological fathers are cautious, especially with daughters, so one must be careful. However, some viewed it as cute, likening it to European social norms where kisses are a form of love and affection among adults or children.
Recently, Sun Wongsatorn posted a clarification and apology about the incident on his Facebook page Sun Wongsatorn, with the following message:
“I sincerely thank everyone for the love and kindness shown to both of us. Today, I have a complete family, and I am ready to lead, care for, and protect everyone in the family so that we all find happiness. Both Sun and Praew will walk forward hand in hand.
I also affirm with my honor that I am ready to give love and care to Narita and Kiao with pure and genuine intentions from now on, so they can be happy and receive a good education for a bright future.
Although today there may have been images and events some found inappropriate or upsetting, I humbly apologize and express my regret, accepting any advice or criticism regarding what happened.
As the head of my family from now on, I declare my intention is only sincere and pure love and affection. I will be careful to prevent any incidents that might disappoint everyone regarding our family. I sincerely thank you and apologize once again, with respect.”
