Kem Kritthira Criticizes Lawyer Kaew: Societys Twisted Logic Blames Victims

, lawyer Kaew Dr. Monchai Jongkairattanakul became embroiled in a scandal involving the sexual harassment of an 18-year-old intern, the daughter of a tailor shop owner, with negotiations reportedly involving millions in compensation and intermediaries trying to facilitate talks between the two, but the situation escalated into a major controversy.

Recently, former TV host Kem Kritthira Inpornwijit also known as Kem Tisib posted a fiery commentary on the issue, stating the following:

“Regarding the case of #lawyerKaew and the 18-year-old girl, I watched the news program today and heard attempts to downplay the situation, whether intentional or not.

We won’t discuss lawyer Kaew’s past behavior, but his fame is one factor that made it difficult for the young woman to refuse. Yet, at some point, due to inability to say no, she just went along, but then felt uncomfortable later. She deserves more respect.

I’ve seen comments suggesting... 'I understand why lawyer Kaew felt entitled to harass her; she was flirting,' and so on.

This reflects the distorted logic in parts of society that use a woman’s beauty or sexiness to diminish a man’s wrongdoing, when in truth, “consent” does not expire because of appearance and can be withdrawn at any time.

Even if consent was given before, when the woman says no, it must stop immediately. This is the basic principle of respecting bodily autonomy. Comments siding with the perpetrator are not understanding; they normalize violence and shift responsibility to the victim.

This issue is not about charm or age, but about boundaries, consent, and human dignity. No one has the right to cross those lines under any circumstances.

Regarding the money demanded by the father, I understand the extreme anger. I believe male hosts would understand if that girl were their own daughter and someone else was making advances. Fathers and other men in society would understand. It’s not about money but about seeking justice and wanting to see lawyer Kaew face consequences—that’s the father’s feeling.

I understand the father and believe he must also be angry with the girl. No matter how young people are these days or how she is judged, we have to accept she is only 18. As for other matters, it’s best to hear from the father directly.

* I still emphasize I’m not discussing past issues because that would be another matter entirely.

Afterward, Kem Kritthira added a comment under the post: “Don’t tell the father, I won’t tell him. That means hugging and kissing are allowed. That’s very old-fashioned. She’s only 18. He has a wife and children. What is he thinking? How long will this continue? If she consents, how does it end? It’s really like a haunting.” This sparked numerous responses from netizens.
