After the young actor Big Sarut Wijitranon posted a message saying, “Perhaps we are not suited to chase debts because we are too kind, which caused that producer to cheat us again as usual. Am I just an overly kind actor? Or should I work with people who keep their word and are responsible?” with the caption, “Sigh, so sad, really bad,” which sparked a hot topic earlier.
Recently, Big Sarut opened up to Thairath Entertainment after attending the “Yesterday: Traces of Love First Premiere: No Way Back” event at SF World Cinema, Theater 15, 9th Floor, Central World shopping center. He said he has now been paid after a very long chase.
- Regarding the debt chase post, he said the producer has paid now, but he doesn’t know if others have received their money yet since he hasn’t followed up. He mentioned talking with the crew he met about other matters and asked if they had been paid. They said no, but recently he saw they were told the payment was made. As for Mae Koi (Tarika Thidathit), he’s not sure because he hasn’t met her to ask.
- He said the chasing took a very long time, with constant delays and excuses. He frankly described it as a lack of responsibility, as the producer kept shifting all the burden back onto him. He had plans for the money and needed to spend it, but the producer kept pushing it back, promising firmly that payment was guaranteed, yet failing to pay on time. Ultimately, he did get paid but said he doesn’t hold a grudge; still, he prefers not to deal with that person again.
- From now on, he will be more cautious. With people he knows well, it’s fine since they know each other’s credit. But with new people, he might negotiate payment conditions, such as paying 50% upfront before filming.
- Actually, he never thought this would be a problem. He had a similar experience once over ten years ago, which took over two years to get the money.
