Previously, there was a clip of Mario Maurer who went hiking with March Juthawut on March Juthawut's YouTube channel, Meenakom. The highlight was Mario dragging a suitcase up the mountain, which people teased him about all along the way until it became a meme.
Recently, Mario attended the launch event for the “LIVE LIGHTER A Lighter Life” campaign at the Grand Ballroom, 4th floor, InterContinental Hotel Bangkok on Ploenchit Road. He gave an interview about this and said,
"Are you wearing glasses today?"
"I was driving in the dust with the window down, so I had to protect my eyes. That's why I'm wearing glasses. Lately, I've been trying not to wear contact lenses, but now I'm better."
"Recently, you went hiking with a suitcase—what's the story?"
"I have only one suitcase, which I really love. It's a rolling suitcase. Usually, people don't bring rolling suitcases up mountains. I didn't want to burden anyone (so I took it myself). I hired porters but got teased the entire way about bringing this suitcase. But they got envious when I was carrying water for friends. So, it worked out well."
"Do you feel guilty toward the porters?"
"The porters said it was no problem and they've carried heavier loads before. But next time, I won't bring it. (Why only one suitcase?) I am determined to keep using this one."
"Have you been hiking mountains often lately?"
"He invited me. I was reluctant since I had been before, including on the show 'Oh Larn Laak.' But this time, March invited me. I got hooked. We went to Doi Luang Chiang Dao, saw nature, hiked for four hours. I liked it a lot, getting close to nature and feeling the conservation spirit. They don't allow littering, and you have to carry out your own waste. You get eight bags for that, with designated disposal spots. You tie up your waste and carry it out. Other mountains might not be this strict, but here it's a wildlife sanctuary, so they take it seriously."
"How did you feel about having to do that?"
"It was exciting and new, but everything stayed clean. Everyone must do this. (So you carried it while walking?) Yes, I carried it along."
"How was the weather?"
"The weather was good. At night, deer came close, but I was afraid I might fall asleep."
"Did you manage to shower?"
"I didn't shower. They also forbid bringing wet wipes. I didn't shower since it was just one night. Please check out the video on March's Meenakom channel; it's a very charming episode. Please follow along."
