The artist and Manora singing teacher, Ekkachai Srivichai, felt disheartened upon seeing images of Manora performances in a popular southern nightclub. He said there are two types of Manora and questioned, if people think it's good, then go ahead. He added he does not have a message for anyone and that people can do whatever they want. Recently, when we met "Paw Ekk" he opened up, saying, "I just feel disheartened by what's happening, but I read online that some say if you don't want change, just keep it on the shelf.
But no one understands that Manora has two forms: the sacred ritualistic Manora, and the show dance Manora, which share the same costumes. So, if it's just the show dance Manora, dancing anywhere is fine and acceptable. However, since there is also the sacred Manora with its own behaviors, caution is needed. Now, when it appears in nightclubs, with coyote dancers wearing Manora costumes, I ask everyone: if you all think it's appropriate, then go ahead, child. It's not only my heritage. Go on. Whether it disrespects or not, that's up to you. We can't say anything. People behave as they please. In the end, I have no message to leave. Whatever, go ahead and do as you wish."
