For this event, “Mae Chom” replied strikingly that at 44 years old, she is confident she takes very good care of herself and expressed a desire to meet the people who criticized her.
Mae Chom’s look received both positive and negative reactions. The bold dolly eye style sparked discussion. She explained, “Usually with P’Pom (the makeup artist), there isn’t strict direction. We just look at the outfit and say what kind of woman we want to be that day, roughly. The rest is respecting each person’s creativity. I actually don’t like looking in the mirror much when doing makeup—I just do what I want. Usually, when people do my makeup, I don’t look either, except maybe to copy techniques or learn something new.”
