You might be seeing more of young man Jirayu "Got" lately because he currently has a series airing. But Got said that after this series ends, he might not be seen much since he has no new dramas or series lined up. He is selective about roles and hasn’t found any that appeal to him yet. He also explained the reason for his two-year absence from social media.
We recently met Got at the launch event of “TROS PRO Advanced Anti-Hair Loss Series” at Pref Café & Bar (Sathorn Soi 11). He told reporters,
"I don’t have many plans for work this year. I’m focusing on my own project as an art form—leather goods. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with sewing leather. This project has been going on for 10 years, but I’ve never told anyone that I want to be a leather craftsman. I’ve always liked leather, and since I’ve taken a break from acting, I’ve had time to pursue what I want to do.
Some of the products have been sold and exhibited in Dubai. Soon, there will be a launch in Thailand as well. Our customers are a private niche group because we make sports equipment using leather combined with art. So we primarily target international markets. As for income, I’d rather not talk about that—let’s skip it.
We are currently negotiating to launch in Thailand too, aiming for a mass market. Fitness equipment here focuses on function, but if you put fitness gear in the home, it doesn’t look nice because it’s mostly metal. As someone who loves art, I just want to make that metal look better."
Have you planned your entertainment work for this year?
"In entertainment, I choose roles carefully because I think I’ve worked a lot already and don’t want to be stressed anymore. I want to work with teams and scripts I feel comfortable with. I’m a hard worker, and doing a lot of homework is normal for any profession."
Is the heavy work related to the roles you accept?
"Yes, I am selective about many things, including the people I act with. I feel that when we don’t have a good deal, we encounter situations that give us headaches. I’m tired of the industry sometimes. Am I saturated? Not really—I still love acting. Even now, I act without cameras, like playing guitar whenever I want, because I still love it. It’s just that I haven’t found a team, production, or script that excites me yet."
"Actually, I believe we have the potential to make films that encourage love more than hatred. But I’ve been in roles with more cruelty. Do I want to continue? Sometimes I want to rest and return to projects that families can watch and smile together. I’ve experienced that life, but today it doesn’t exist anymore."
Currently, there are fewer dramas in the industry. Do you choose roles that suit you when scripts come?
"I’m not concerned about survival because I’ve prepared for my life for over 10 years. What worries me is the work attitude nowadays. Budgets are lower, as we all know, and from what I see now, actors seem less invested in their work. I want us to work with love for the audience. Don’t underestimate them—they can tell if you’re serious or just putting on a show. Nowadays, audiences see a lot, especially young people, so we must give our best. If we don’t know something, study it. Sometimes work inside and outside the box."
Do you want to work both behind and in front of the camera?
"This year, yes. But I’m not working on big projects because I know that under large projects, you have to do everything the same way since they play it safe. So I’m stepping away to find something new just for fun. You’ll see it soon—it’s almost time to shoot. The work will be a vertical-format series, and I will act in it myself."
When can we expect to see it?
"Very soon. I’ll keep you updated. I disappeared from social media for about two years because I was exhausted from internal issues. But now I see the value in media cooperation. Let’s make it nicer together."
How much toxic experience did you encounter on social media?
"A lot of toxicity. True stories become false, lies become believed. People no longer trust truth but what they hear repeatedly. It’s painful. (How do you heal yourself?) Sleep, sleep, lots of sleep. (Do you avoid reading or consuming content?) Not entirely. I still live among people."
