The mother has arrived! "Bum Panadda" shed her beauty queen mode and embraced the spirit of a responsible citizen, waking early to check in at polling station 69. She shared her excitement and appealed for the new prime minister to address the country's problems decisively and promptly.
Bum Panadda revealed her feelings after casting her vote, saying, “TodayI am very excited. The atmospherehas been lively since early morning. I intended to be the first to come, but others arrived before me. I got here at 7:50 a.m., but others came as early as 7 a.m. Seeing this lively scene makes me even more excited. It's not even 8:30 a.m. yet, and the crowd is already large.
I'm glad so many people are exercising their right to vote. I heard from friends in the entertainment industry that some drove to other provinces last night just to vote. This election is exciting for many reasons: my daughter is voting for the first time, I'm thrilled to see the younger generation participate, and this is also my first time using the Thai ID to vote.”
Reviewing this voting experience? “Besides using the Thai ID, I was surprised that we are still using the old system of tearing ballots with a ruler as before. But what we must be careful about is the candidate's number. Cameras are not allowed inside, so you can write it down by hand. If voting for an individual, you have to memorize the number yourself, as the ballot only shows numbers and the box to mark. If voting for a party or party-list, the party names are provided for selection.
Another exciting aspect isthe yellow ballot, which isthe referendum vote where you choose your preferred constitution. You must first cast the green or pink ballot, then vote again with the yellow ballot. It’s not complicated; you just vote 'approve' or 'disapprove'.”
What kind of prime minister do you want?
“I want a prime minister who will tackle problems decisively and seriously because we have had ongoing issues for a very long time. The people have suffered greatly, includingborder problems, economic issues, corruption, scammer problems, and even flood management issues, which have lacked firm handling in the past. I want a prime minister who willimmediately address these matters becausewe have been waiting a long time for someone to come in and solve these problems.”
