
Actress Janea Methika Jeeranorapat She posted an apology for missing the election because she was filming a movie abroad for one month and thus could not exercise her voting rights. She has always voted in past elections and said she was unaware that early voting was allowed.
On her X account @janeeeyeh, Janea posted: “I honestly didn’t know early voting was possible because I have always voted on election day. This year I was filming abroad for a month. I won’t make excuses; I accept my fault and apologize for disappointing everyone. I will take this mistake as a lesson and study more about early voting and planning ahead. I am very sorry and apologize for letting everyone down.”
Afterwards, fans commented and advised her to report her reason for missing the election to the Election Commission so she would not lose her political rights to vote or participate in referendums for two years. Janea replied, “I will do so.”
Besides receiving support from fans, Janea also faced heavy online criticism for neglecting her voting rights and not following the news. She has since locked her X account.
