After the unofficial announcement of the 2026 election results, barring any errors, the 33rd Prime Minister will be Anutin Charnvirakul leader of the Bhumjaithai Party. The party secured an overwhelming majority in parliament, leading the People's Party by several dozen seats. However, it was noted that the People's Party won every seat in the Bangkok districts, while Bhumjaithai did not win a single one.
This triggered a flurry of social media comments and debates. Some insulted those with opposing views as stupid and unlike Bangkok residents, where the People's Party swept every district. Supporters of other parties responded, escalating into heated arguments online.
Recently, Phorth Anon the renowned film director shared his opinion on the election results, which have become a heated topic, stating, “Yesterday's election outcome clearly confirms that Thailand is not just Bangkok. Thailand has 77 provinces, and everyone is Thai. What is democracy that people are demanding so much? Whatever the results, we must accept them because everyone who voted yesterday wanted democracy, didn't they?”
“No one is smarter or dumber; everyone has their own thoughts and minds, and they have used them. Don't insult those with different views. Does thinking differently mean someone is stupid? Focus on working instead of stressing. The next Prime Minister of Thailand is Anutin Charnvirakul. That's final. Work will not change that. Many Thai people have already made their choice.”
