Fans were quite worried when Aum Taweeporn Pringchamras Miss Grand Thailand 2023 had to undergo emergency surgery after severe abdominal pain revealed a uterine tumor and a ruptured cyst that caused internal bleeding, requiring immediate surgery. Aum shared her experience and advised all women not to endure pain but to have annual gynecological exams.
"Now entering... from women to women,
I want to tell everyone that if you feel abdominal pain, you don't have to endure it until it becomes unbearable before seeing a doctor, because sometimes it can turn into a very serious problem.
I’ll tell you, I started feeling abdominal pain at 6 p.m. I took medicine which helped a bit but the pain didn’t go away. By midnight, the pain was intense—my abdomen felt very hard, I couldn’t tighten it, and breathing hurt. I decided to go to the hospital. When I arrived, the pain was worse, maybe because the medicine had worn off.
They drew blood and collected urine to check kidney function and other tests, which were normal, but my infection markers were very high. The doctor initially thought the pain was due to appendicitis, as it was very likely, but to be sure they did a CT scan and found a mass on my uterus and blood filling my abdomen. At that moment, I was shocked and scared.
I had to see a gynecologist for an internal examination, and was told I needed immediate surgery because the mass was a ruptured cyst that was still bleeding uncontrollably.
I had surgery at 5 a.m. When I met the surgeon, I was very scared, afraid I wouldn’t wake up. I told the doctor, “Please take care of me,” and prayed. The doctor said, “Thank me when you wake up,” and was very encouraging.
When I woke up, I couldn’t remember the time. The doctor came to check on me and said first, “How did you endure this?” I thought about it and wondered how I managed because my abdomen was swollen from blood, like a pregnant belly, haha. The doctor said a normal woman’s blood count is around 35.
But at surgery, mine had dropped to 27. There was liters of blood flowing inside my abdomen, spreading even to my liver. The doctor showed me pictures from the operation. If you have pain, you should definitely see a doctor (I totally agree).
I am very grateful to the doctors for their excellent care. I had laparoscopic surgery with four small incisions to cleanse my abdomen and remove a 10 cm cyst. Now, I want to share that endurance is good, but you don’t have to endure everything, haha.
Finally, I want to encourage every woman to have an annual gynecological exam. You can’t know what’s going on inside your body yourself. Before the pain started, I was fine—still going out to cafes, enjoying myself (you can tell from the photos—eyeliner, eyebrows, blush, and lipstick all on point, haha).
From one woman to another, that’s all. Once again, thank you for all the support and care. I’m now in recovery and healing. I will take good care of myself. Bye-bye.”
