Regarding the case "The Icon Group" in which Mr. Yuranan Phamonmontri or Boss Sam and Ms. Peechaya Watthanamontri or Boss Min the special case prosecutors decided not to press charges due to insufficient evidence, and they were subsequently released.
As a result, Pol. Lt. Col. Yuttana Praedam Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) submitted a dissenting opinion recommending prosecution of Boss Sam and Boss Min on five serious charges as well. According to procedure, this dissenting opinion was forwarded to the Attorney General for a final decision.
Recently, it was reported that on 17 Feb 2024 GMT+7, the Attorney General's final ruling was sent to the Special Case Prosecutor's Office, agreeing with the DSI Director-General's recommendation to prosecute both suspects.
Next, the Special Case Prosecutor will schedule a meeting with the two suspects to file charges according to the Attorney General’s ruling. If the suspects fail to appear, the Special Case Prosecutor’s Office will request the DSI to bring the suspects to file charges at the Criminal Court.
