The topic became a hot issue on social media again when Sado Style, or Sen Dai Pimlada Waewthaisong, a well-known female influencer, recently entered the DJ scene. She announced plans to become a DJ despite having learned for less than 10 hours and was ready to accept gigs. However, this sparked heavy drama.
The entire incident can be summarized as follows.
- Sado, also known as Sen Dai, the famous female influencer, posted a clip of herself practicing as a DJ with the caption, “Believe it or not, I’ve learned less than 10 hours!!! How many things can one person really get good at? The music testing is just too good 555555555 See you at the birthday party!! 20 Feb.”
- Following that post, many fans praised her skills, but some pointed out that the gestures in the clip seemed to be just turning effect knobs on a channel without any music actually playing.
- DJs and insiders from the scene commented extensively, saying things like confidence is good and supported, but it must be matched with real ability; questioning why she was turning the wrong channel; and mocking the clip’s awkwardness. The post’s comments included criticism, praise, and encouragement.
- Sado’s post sparked a strong reaction from the DJ community. Female DJ Ub-ib Pavika Indradat wrote that seeing a woman claim to have learned DJing in 10 hours and confidently call herself a “DJ,” while only turning effect knobs with no music playing, was more saddening than angering. It made the profession seem easy to master in just a few hours, undermining the value of the career and the efforts of many women proving themselves in a tough field. Ultimately, being a DJ is not about camera confidence but responsibility to the music and listeners.
- Ae BOTCASH, a famous DJ and producer, also posted saying, “Don’t pay attention or give light to those who disrespect our profession. The more you talk about them, the more people see them. We know in our hearts that fakes can never replace the real thing.”
- Sado responded fiercely, posting, “#Can’tStandTheVoicesInMyHead from those who insult dreams and others’ abilities—you’re just losers!!! Pathetic losers 555555555 Claiming to be talented and great, but you’re trash!!! Whatever learning is, just let it be!!! #Otherwise, if someone who just learned to cut clips and review videos in a couple of days calls themselves an influencer with only tens or hundreds of thousands of followers, should I insult them? For disrespecting my profession? Ew, calling themselves influencers? Pathetic loser logic blaming others.”
- Sado also explained her perspective that she indeed learned for less than 10 hours because she only had two days. But she is a fast learner with over a decade of video editing skills, which gave her an understanding of rhythm (BPM). She’s always listened to world-class music by attending major events. She listens to music constantly and has prior learning skills, allowing her to quickly grasp and apply DJing, making it plausible to perform within less than 10 hours of formal training.
- She also mentioned people who just learned to edit clips and review videos in a couple of days calling themselves influencers with only tens or hundreds of thousands of followers, questioning why she can’t be a DJ. She insulted critics as lower-class, narrow-minded losers who blame others.
- She concluded, “Even if you’ve been a DJ for 10 years, if your music testing doesn’t fit your audience, you’re a bad tester!” She added that the birthday party she was DJing for included businesspeople, seniors, and officials, all open-minded. The music she played was loved because it was innovative and rarely heard in Thai clubs, including House, Afro house, and melodic house genres.
- Then Sado shared Ae BOTCASH’s post expressing great disappointment in him, saying, “I’m a fan of your music and have always enjoyed your work. I even wanted to ask you to produce music. If the person you mentioned is me, I don’t know what I did to upset you. I’m just a music lover who has attended nearly every world-class DJ event almost every year for the past decade.” She said she only wants to DJ to share music she loves, not caring what others call her, but it’s wrong for seniors to belittle others’ dreams and be narrow-minded.
- Sado ended her message to Ae BOTCASH by saying, “#ThenI’ve been a creator for a long time with around 20 million followers, about 30% of Thais. If you’re just a DJ who edits clips and posts on TikTok, then I’d probably criticize you for disrespecting my creator profession.”
- She also sent Ae BOTCASH a private message stating, “I’m very disappointed in you. I thought someone as cool and skilled as you wouldn’t have such low logic to disrespect others’ love, dreams, and abilities. Now, after hearing you speak like that, you’re just a lower-class person who arrogantly claims to be a god of DJing. I think that’s not impressive at all.” She then unfollowed him.
- Moreover, Sado concluded that she stays focused on herself and never insults or looks down on others first, but she refuses to tolerate bullying of her dreams and disrespect for her abilities.
