The relationship between Pleng Chonmatida and Peck Seranee Charnveerakul —son of the incoming Prime Minister Anutin Charnveerakul—which ended after over 7 years together, following a surprise marriage proposal from the man—remains a topic many are curious about.
Recently, Pleng Chonmatida appeared alongside her mother, Tu Nantida, to open up on the Club Friday Show. The show released a teaser clip before the full episode airs on 28 Feb. In some segments, host P'Aoy asked about her past relationship.
Pleng said it felt very close to being a lifelong partnership. She recalled many happy moments and believes every relationship teaches life lessons.
P'Aoy asked, “Were there any signs in the relationship?” Pleng replied that at some point, she felt lonely despite being in the relationship. She felt she had no one to share or confide in, no longer feeling the warmth she once did. She also said she was the one who decided to end it, explaining, “If I don't decide, it will decide for me.”
“It’s me, Pleng. I feel society wonders why I still use the word ‘Postpone’ when the other party has already said, ‘I am single now.’ Our stories no longer align. That’s why I asked for clarity.”
When P'Aoy asked what he said, Pleng replied, “It’s not that he doesn’t love me, but he’s not ready now and asked for time. Yet, he also asked me to keep the wedding dress but wanted to end the relationship.” This left P'Aoy and P'Chod speechless, only able to say, “That’s so hard!”
During the show, Aun Phuwanat asked if, since he said he was single, he had started a new relationship. Pleng smiled and nodded slightly, prompting P'Aoy to say, “Okay, a smile is the answer. Got it.”
Meanwhile, Tu Nantida spoke about the situation saying, “I can say it boldly...(turning to Pleng) Did I say it well? Can I say it?” before crying and hugging her daughter.
P'Chod noted that part of what helped Pleng stop was her mother. Pleng shared, “My mother came to me almost every day, hugged me, and cried heavily—more than I’d ever seen her cry before. I felt that no matter how much pain I felt, my mother’s pain was a hundredfold. She said, ‘My child has suffered enough. May the heavens protect your heart. I can’t bear this anymore.’ That’s when I felt it was enough. If my mother has to shed tears over this and my pain, I won’t take it anymore. That is the core of my heart.”
