Boom Panadda Shocked by Exploding Surin Ammunition Depot Complains of Frozen Accounts, Unable to Use Funds Amid Exhausting Troubles

A shocking incident occurred yesterday in Surin province when the ammunition depot of the 21st Ranger Battalion exploded at 19:30 on 24 Feb 2026, causing significant alarm among local residents. "Boom Panadda" The chairperson of the Good Deeds Organization Foundation, who has also been following the news, opened up saying that she is currently waiting for clarity about what happened. She also provided an update on her bank accounts being frozen, rendering them unusable. Boom Panadda shared that last night, everyone was frightened; locals were already preparing to evacuate. She said, “Last night, I kept asking, and they were already packing because they didn’t know when clashes might occur. However, it turned out the ammunition depot exploded, and the army has since released statements confirming they have the situation under control and there is no need to worry. As for the cause, they are still investigating and we await the army's official announcement to clarify the details.”

“Everything is possible,” she said, emphasizing that many scenarios could explain what happened, including the possibility of an old weapons storage system failing. She expressed regret over the loss of weapons since it shouldn’t have happened, but said they must wait for the army to investigate the truth. She added that the situation is under control. Prior to the explosion, there was gunfire from Cambodia using 40 mm rounds, but they were not deceived and managed to resist the attack. She mentioned plans to visit both Surin and Sa Kaeo provinces soon.

Asked if a third clash might occur, she replied yes, noting the opposing side’s ongoing aggressive stance, their advance, and weapon movements suggest another clash is possible. She said they regularly visit the area but are currently focusing on rear-area protection, such as building many bunkers at hospitals, especially in Sa Kaeo. This is because any future clashes there could be severe, given the flat terrain and the presence of many residents’ homes. Therefore, protective measures for officials are necessary. She said the military is currently working hard to build and repair bunkers and continues to offer support and encouragement.

Regarding her frozen accounts, she complained that the freeze has lasted two weeks with no resolution. Despite being a public figure, working on publicizing anti-scammer efforts, she has suffered the same fate as many others. She said that accounts can be frozen within two minutes, but lifting the freeze takes two weeks or more. The delay is due to the need to contact authorities personally, which she lacks time for. She added that not only some but all her accounts, credit cards, and TrueMoney accounts have been frozen, leaving her unable to use any funds. She also found it amusing that colleagues in the industry have been calling to ask if she has money or needs funds transferred, but she cannot access any of it.
