Nai Naphat Clears Up Rumors After Netizens Zoom on Reflection Shadow, Emphasizes Heart Is Only for Work

The young leading man is once again under scrutiny regarding his love life. Nai Naphat Siangsomboon. Recently, he posted a photo from a New Year's camping trip, but netizens zoomed in, speculating whether the reflection in the car window showed a woman. Reporters asked Nai Naphat about this at the "One Phenomenon Sensation" event at Muangthai Ratchadalai Theater, Esplanade Ratchada shopping center, along with updates on his running and the big-budget series "Hongsawadee" on One31 channel.

Are you running as usual these days?

"Right now, I have to run a lot out of town and rarely stay home. Work keeps me busy with almost no breaks, but I’m still running as usual because in two weeks I have an event in Paris, and then my big marathons are in Chicago and Berlin. By October, once I finish filming this and another project, it will be marathon season for me."

Can you update us on your love life?

"No updates, just focusing on work."

About the Instagram photo where some zoomed in on the reflection and said there was a woman?

"Oh, why zoom? It’s clearly my head (laughs). I was really confused. You can even use a magnifying glass — it’s my head. No need to zoom in. As for my heart, it’s only for work. I’ll say it as many times as needed: I’m only working (laughs). Right now, it’s just me and my manager. That’s it (laughs). It’s my own head."

How is working on the project "Hongsawadee"? How do you feel about your role?

"It’s a lot of fun. This story’s characters are based on real people. We drew from history, and the script team — P’Lak (Lak Sirilak), P’Pon (Nipon Piwan), and P’Boy (Thakolkiet Weerawan) — interpreted the relationships realistically, showing how those born into royalty felt. There are political divisions, but also sibling relationships."

"When I listened, I didn’t know who was playing whom, but I wanted to understand how Mang Ji Chwa felt. Usually, we see him in war scenes, but here we see him as a true friend of King Naresuan, raised together. It’s heartwarming but also involves political tensions that show conflicts between nations, affecting not just individuals but the people. The script is very engaging, and filming has been enjoyable. There are seven scenes left, so you’ll get to see it soon."

"This week, I have a key scene: the Elephant Battle, filmed on elephant back. I’m very excited to see how it turns out. I’ve really given my all for this project. I haven’t shared much yet, but now I can say I went to Myanmar to study, lived among locals, and visited Hongsawadee city. I had to learn as much history as possible and train in martial arts to portray the Crown Prince authentically. It’s fun. Today, seeing the progress made me feel refreshed. I’ll rest briefly before getting back to work in a couple of days."

The teaser caused quite a stir, right?

"I’m happy. We’ve been waiting for months. People asked if the Elephant Battle scene really involved riding elephants — it does. I want to share a lot, but I can’t just yet (laughs). Now that the poster is out and the cast revealed, we’ve been filming for some time. Just a little more waiting until we get the green light, then I can share everything. For me, this film is Thailand’s heritage. It’s aimed at younger generations, with stunning, cinematic visuals. The script team led by P’Lak is amazing, and P’Pui (Phun Chantrasiri) did a great job. I can’t wait for everyone to see it."

This is a new type of role many are anticipating. Have you played anything like this before?

"In short, for me, this is a masterpiece, my latest performance after stage plays. I’m fully happy with it. I hope that what I feel will resonate with viewers. Behind the scenes, it feels like camping. If you see my and my manager’s Instagram during filming, we camp out fully equipped. Tomorrow, we’ll stay overnight. On set, everyone is productive and having fun. It’s tiring but very enjoyable, like a scout camp."

Is it a big production?

"Yes, hundreds of extras, costumes flown in from India. It’s grander than I imagined from the script. P’Boy has a concept of showcasing Thai elegance and personality, aiming to present it to Thai audiences. This is truly a heritage film for Thailand."

It seems you gave it your all like never before?
"I believe many actors give their all for every project. For me, getting this role and story, I really connected with it. Filming under the strong Thai sun is like being bathed in sunlight."

When the teaser came out, fans started shipping you with Tree Phorpat?

"P’Tree is very kind, but I must emphasize this is not a boys’ love series. It’s about a brotherly relationship. P’Tree plays an older brother who cares and looks after me. He’s lovely and warm since joining One31. Please support this series."
