Previously, Ja Nongpanee updated that her father's condition has improved: his vital signs are better, and he has begun to breathe on his own without continuous reliance on a ventilator.
Ja's sister gave an interview saying the most moving thing was the faith in the Earth Goddess who twists hair buns. She explained that she went to pray to the Earth Goddess and promised to build a statue for the temple in their hometown if their father recovered.
This led netizens to criticize, asking if she did not trust the doctors and nurses and calling it superstition. In response, Ja posted a video explaining:
“Recently, there was news that my sister gave an interview saying my father's condition improved. When asked if she believed in any miracles, she said she made a vow to the Earth Goddess who twists hair buns and would build a statue if he recovered. The news then reported that Ja Nongpanee's father improved due to belief in the Earth Goddess's miracle.
Netizens then commented that the doctors are not skilled, that she doesn't trust nurses, and called my sister superstitious and other things.
First point: I am not the one who made the vow; my sister did. Second point: if we didn’t trust doctors or nurses, I wouldn’t have spent so much on medical bills or kept him in the hospital this long. I would have just taken him to the Earth Goddess already, right?
But people need sacred things for spiritual support. Please be calm when reading this. I always say thank you to skilled doctors and good nurses. Today I didn’t mention which hospital because some might visit and disturb others. Understand? So as netizens, please stay calm and don’t insult by saying things like “just let the Earth Goddess heal him.” I think that’s... sigh (laughs).”
Additionally, Ja wrote in a comment, "Some netizens seem to have a profession in commenting; they comment way too much."
Many followers also commented, such as: “It's called spiritual support, netizens, calm down,” “It’s a spiritual refuge, netizens, do you know that?” “When my husband broke his leg, the doctor said before surgery that they also rely on spiritual beliefs,” “When we were in ICU, our family prayed to help us recover; it’s another form of spiritual support,” “I don't believe but don't disrespect it; I rely on both,” “His father is seriously ill; with this, let’s give him support.”
