Tor Thanapob Reveals Role as Gobori: Limited Dialogue, Hopes Audience Trusts His Acting Without Comparing to Previous Versions

The new production has been launched for "Gobori" which is a fresh reinterpretation of "Koo Gum" starring the talented leading actor Tor Thanapob. He leads the cast, and recently Tor himself opened up about this intense new project, sharing,

The new work has just been unveiled.

Honestly, I was quite shy about it. I only had plans with Channel One. I couldn't attend the event because I was unavailable, and I didn't know much either. I thought it would be a series titled Gobori, but I can't reveal much yet as discussions are ongoing. However, I believe it will align with the feedback everyone has given after watching the pilot episode. The story will be interpreted in some ways—it's like seeing one story from different perspectives. For example, through my character's eyes, he might seem good, but from another viewpoint, he might not be.

Viewers are waiting and expecting because of the Gobori name, so it looks promising.

I want people to trust me; I will make it as good as it should be.

Many have guessed if this will be a boys' love series.

I can't say much yet, but I can say it won't be old-fashioned. I haven't even read the script—it isn't out yet (laughs). I was most surprised when I saw it had already been released.

Have you seen comparisons to the legendary Gobori?

I have only seen P'Bird's version, which I respect. Please support Tor Thanapob as well. As for Angsumalin, I don't want people to have high expectations because this series is freeform—everyone is ready to find the best fit for this project.

Are you feeling pressured by people's expectations?

Not at all. Others' opinions don't affect me much. These are just speculations about what might happen... I want to do it. P'Pun immediately became excited. Regarding suitability, I think it can't be judged easily; it depends on many perspectives. I believe it will be interesting, considering the director and writer. As for the Japanese language, I speak it myself without dubbing. I have many language barriers, so it's exciting. From what I've heard, it sounds natural. The hardest part is the Japanese accent in Thai.
