After Poo Kanokwan Buranon spoke out about her breakup with Deaw Doksadao, the veteran comedian, claiming she caught Deaw living a double life and registering marriage with another woman, arriving after this woman, before Ple Napath, Deaw Doksadao’s daughter, along with Kwan, Deaw’s ex-girlfriend, came forward to clear the air and defend their father, stating these claims are untrue.
Recently, Ple Napath, accompanied by her lawyer Suea Chitpong Putthi, appeared on the “Hone Krasae” program on Channel 3. Ple clarified that Poo’s claim that her father (Deaw) registered marriage with someone else is false. They checked the district office and found no such record. Her father had registered marriage with her mother and divorced in 1987. Regarding the double life and third world claims, these are unfounded. For 29 years, Ple lived with her father, frequently visited him, helped him as an employee, gave him money, and never involved herself in his business affairs.
Ple said she was unaware of Kwan’s involvement until her father suffered a stroke on the evening of 22 March 2025 GMT+7. She learned about it on the morning of 23 March 2025 GMT+7 when Poo called to ask her to pick him up. Poo should have taken him earlier, but did not, and Ple chose not to ask questions to avoid conflict, focusing instead on caring for her father.
Regarding Kwan’s help in caring for Deaw, Ple explained that her father met Kwan over 30 years ago after divorcing her mother. They may be past acquaintances, but this is history that Poo knew about during the entire 29 years. Currently, there is no romantic involvement; Kwan helps out of gratitude toward Deaw.
When Kwan met Poo, Kwan apologized, saying, “We’re old now, and the past is past. Since Deaw is ill, I came to help.” She came to watch over him because Ple was unavailable that day and was asked to assist briefly. After that, according to Kwan, she did not visit again.
During Deaw’s time at the care center, Poo visited once a week for 20–30 minutes. Ple handled all other care. She questioned whether a wife would behave like that, saying if it were her husband, she wouldn’t act that way. Their communication decreased over time, and Poo had not yet met Kwan during those weekly visits. After meeting Kwan, Poo stopped visiting and the story became public.
Ple said she has always been kind and respectful to Poo. Yet after only 20 minutes of meeting Kwan, Poo concluded that Deaw had a second and third woman, which is incorrect. Ple wondered why Poo did not discuss this with her and stressed that Kwan was brought in only because no one else was available to care for their father.
Regarding medical expenses at the hospital, Deaw used the gold card health scheme, but Poo paid for other expenses such as the bed. Poo claimed she sold Deaw’s gold jewelry, raising 65,000 baht to buy these items. Ple cannot confirm if they had joint savings but said Deaw’s and Poo’s assets were separate. Ple heard about the gold being sold while at the hospital. As for the claim that Deaw never gave money to Poo, Ple found that hard to believe, as Deaw worked for 29 years and supported others financially. Ple noted that Poo can say whatever she wants, but Deaw can no longer speak for himself.
Host Noom Karnchai asked if Ple’s purpose today was to claim inheritance or money. Ple responded she wanted nothing from Poo, and if she had, she would have taken it long ago, not waiting until her father was ill. She spoke out to show everyone that her father is not as portrayed and to stop this unfair labeling. She does not want Poo’s money but only to defend her father, who did not have a mistress nor register marriage with anyone else.
Ple also denied that Poo was a mere tool used by her father. Poo claimed to have been sent by Deaw to manage business, but Ple said her father was always present. His reputation, built over more than 50 years, had never been marred until this issue arose. Ple emphasized she does not want any money and only asks for the truth to be told, rejecting slander against a bedridden patient. She said people who love each other should continue to do so, and judging her father after seeing just a brief encounter with one woman is wrong. She came today to seek justice for her father.
Meanwhile, Kwan, Deaw’s ex-girlfriend, phoned into the program to clarify facts about marriage registration. She said she is not another life partner of Deaw but admitted to a past relationship long ago. Asked why she visited the care center, Kwan said she learned from news reports about Deaw’s condition and visited as an acquaintance. On the day she stayed to watch over him, Ple was unavailable. Seeing Deaw alone, she gave her number and said she could help if needed. She only stayed briefly that day.
Regarding her apology saying, “We’re old now,” Kwan said she meant it sincerely. She felt sorry for Deaw, who was bedridden, and did not intend anything else. She acknowledged dating Deaw 29 years ago while he was involved with Poo. When Poo found out, Deaw ended the relationship with Kwan. Meeting Poo later, Kwan apologized for the past. She reiterated that there was never any marriage registration with Deaw.
Ple concluded by affirming that what she said is true and supported by evidence. She challenged the other party to present evidence supporting their side, promising to respectfully concede if that happened. Ple said she is not afraid and is ready to bow in respect if proven wrong.
