Today (4 Mar 2026), the Bangkok South Criminal Court scheduled the verdict reading in the case of Look Mee Rasamee Thongsiripraisri as the plaintiff filing a lawsuit against Poo Mantana as the defendant for defamation by advertising.
Today, Poo Mantana appeared with her lawyer to hear the verdict in person, while Look Mee sent a lawyer due to other commitments.
The court considered that the defendant accused the plaintiff in a media interview regarding money lending, but presented no evidence that the plaintiff actually lent money or charged interest. The defendant’s actions were not made in good faith, were not beneficial to the public, and were intended to damage the plaintiff’s reputation, constituting the offense alleged by the plaintiff.
The court ruled the defendant guilty under Penal Code sections 326, 328, and 393, a single act violating multiple laws, and imposed the heaviest penalty for defamation by advertising.
The sentence is 2 years in prison and a fine of 60,000 baht, with the prison term suspended for 2 years. The defendant is placed on probation for 1 year, required to report to probation officers 3 times, and must complete 48 hours of community service.
