After actress and YouTuber Koi Aratchaporn publicly announced her relationship with Tim Pita Limcharoenrat, former leader of the Move Forward Party, during last Valentine's Day, causing a social media buzz, many expressed concern for actor Top Tosapol Maisuk, who previously had a popular on-screen pairing with Koi that fans eagerly supported. Recently, reporters met Top at the “Beyond the Galaxy” event at Cloud 11 and asked about the matter. Have many people been concerned about you lately?
“During February, I noticed it a lot. I was in Chiang Mai filming the movie “Phat Jan” with Janis for Sahamongkol Film. I was in the forest, mountains, and hills.”
Have people worried about your mental state because of this?
“First, let me break it down. Regarding me, I am actually doing very well—very healthy emotionally and mentally. I haven’t had any problems. I was able to follow the news during brief breaks when I was out of the location, which had no signal. I kept in touch with friends by phone. Today, I got the chance to meet some senior colleagues and told them my mental health is very good.”
Has the news affected you?
“Not at all. I’m more worried about my friends—Faye, Kan, and also Natty Dream. I’m very concerned about them.”
Did the news also impact Natty Dream’s side?
“Oh yes, I saw Mean (Peerawit) give an interview. I think all of us—Kan, Faye, Koi, Natty, Dream—we are genuinely friends. We all care a lot and no one has bad intentions toward each other. Both Koi and I have been clear from the start—we are friends. I place Koi, Natty, and Dream in the same tier because I got to know them all around the same time. Kan and Faye are juniors from Chulalongkorn University whom I’ve known for a long time. I’ve just recently met the others. So, I consider all of them in the same group. I have always said we are just friends. I’m happy and concerned for my friends.”
So the shipping buzz came from the audience, not from you pushing it?
“Actually, I have to say from the start, it came from the show. I was on Best’s show called 'Add Friends.' To be honest, everything I said is exactly as it happened, step by step. But the tier I mentioned means we just got to know each other around that timeline. So, the relationship developed from strangers wanting to get to know each other to becoming friends, participating in activities together. Now we’re friends, that’s it.”
Was it a development of the relationship or content creation?
“Content? I’m not sure I can fully differentiate content. To me, as I said, Koi, Natty, Dream, Kan, and Faye are already friends. We happened to meet and work together, like on Koi’s show where I played a card game. That’s when the idea to go trekking together came up. It started there with content collaboration between two channels.”
What’s the current status between you and Koi?
“We’re friends. Absolutely friends. (Did you meet Koi at the event?) Yes, we greeted normally in the dressing room. Koi said hello as usual. We’ve met before at meetings for upcoming trekking content together. So, I congratulated Koi normally.”
Did friends tease you when you met last time?
“No. Like I said, we know the level of our relationship. The situation is normal, nothing unusual.”
May I ask about Koi and Tim’s status? Did you learn about it at the same time as the news?
“Yes, at the same time. (Were you surprised?) I’m not sure if it’s a surprise, but I’m happy with them. I feel the same as their friends do. I said, ‘Wow, congratulations.’”
Many were concerned because it coincided with your birthday?
“I’m happy. (Were you afraid of being sad on your birthday?) No, I was even happier. The fans from Tom Leng’s fan club made things for me, plus my mother wished me and told me to avoid alcohol. That made me even happier.”
Are others projecting their feelings onto you, worrying for you?
“I don’t want to say they’re projecting; rather, they observe my external appearance. For example, when I talked to colleagues on the show 'Suea Jum,' I said I woke up at 6 a.m. to work, but my eyes looked sad. Sometimes it’s not sadness but muscle fatigue. I’m not sad. If I acted overly cheerful, it would seem strange. I’m doing fine.”
I heard Faye mentioned trekking together again?
“Yes, soon. Stay tuned. It’s something new for me. When I go with Faye, we always try to create new content that viewers can enjoy. The 'Let Me Go' clip isn’t just 15 minutes but one to two hours. We need fresh, never-before-seen content for viewers to enjoy. This is new and hasn’t been done before.”
Are you shipping with Janis?
“Oh no, don’t ship us. Faye already said that, right? Janis is very sweet, really kind. I hadn’t known Janis before but worked with her in Chiang Mai. I didn’t expect many things about her, in a good way. She’s considerate and always gives her best, thinking about others on set, not just focusing on herself.”
Janis commented you seem better holding alcohol than milk?
“Hmm, yes. She’s pretty lively too. We were all moving our heads together.”
Are you single now?
“Yes, single and happy.”
Some fans pair you with Faye, even dressing up together at weddings?
“Yes, I hadn’t thought about it before. The event gave that vibe. (Did you thank guests at each table?) Yes, like that. They just asked to toast coffee with guests, and as we toasted, white shirt met white shirt. It looked like the bride and groom taking photos with every table. Now I’m working as a pair with Faye only.”
Top-Faye or Faye-Top?
“Depends on the day, who has a longer or shorter mustache (laughs). We don’t overthink it. How do I feel about the sudden shipping? Not quite shipped yet, but oh wow, maybe it’ll happen soon.”
For this trekking trip, since you and Koi won’t be paddling the boat together, can you handle holding hands with Faye instead?
“Wait and see. There will definitely be some moments. I’ll make it very clear so anyone still wondering about Koi and me will understand how friends look after each other. (What about the boat with Faye? Will it sail?) Faye can take care of himself for now.”
People see you as a public chemistry hero?
“If I do a show with Naek, will that affect anything? Would it still be public chemistry? (Laughs)”
How do you feel about people saying you get along and can paddle a boat with anyone?
“I really appreciate that. It means I’m far from being introverted, more like an accidental extrovert. Thank you very much for your kindness and for following me. This is how I am—very well. Honestly, I worry about everyone when I see the news while in Chiang Mai without internet. I mostly consume work by screenshotting to keep up but can’t respond. I haven’t disappeared.”
