After rumors circulated about a female celebrity being physically abused by her boyfriend, many speculated that the couple involved was actress View Wannarat. View Wannarat Sonthichai. and actor Mac Weerakhanit Kanwatthanakul. Recently, reporters met View at the premiere of the series “Hongsawadee” at SF World Cinema, 8th floor, CentralWorld shopping mall, and asked her about the rumors, as well as about how she spent Valentine’s Day and if she had any plans to surprise Mac for his upcoming birthday on 20 Mar 2026.
How was your Valentine's Day?
“What did I do on Valentine’s Day? (laughs) I’m a bit fuzzy on that. No, no, if I don’t remember, it just means I’m getting old, right? Oh, we just had a normal meal. Nothing special. For Valentine’s, we usually find a nice restaurant and go for omakase together.”
“We just invited each other to eat. I’m not sure if that counts as special. We’re both food lovers anyway, always looking for delicious places. The only difference is we avoid simple dishes and go for Japanese cuisine instead. Who picks the restaurant? It depends on who wants what. Some places contacted us to review, so we took the chance to go on this special day.”
Has the recent news with initials affected you emotionally or your relationship?
“No, not really. I barely know about it. Am I still in showbiz? (laughs) I’m also running a business now, getting older, so it shows. Actually, the news with initials and other things I only see on TikTok or similar. I don’t know who it’s about. I’m just a netizen. None of it involves me, and no one has asked me about it.”
But what about people guessing it’s about you two?
“Oh, people guessed it’s me? I’m still confused. What is the story about? (About someone unmarried being abused?) Oh, judging by my figure, it would be hard to beat me. I can fight back. No, no one asked me. If anyone thinks it’s us, we’re still in love and have no problems.”
Do you find it confusing why rumors always point to your couple?
“Netizens probably just guess randomly about who it might be, or for those who don’t have good news, maybe it’s this couple. But we don’t mention or imply anyone. I’m relaxed and comfortable; I know what I’m doing. It doesn’t affect me.”
Does this kind of news affect your mental state as a couple?
“Not at all. Especially Mac probably doesn’t know about it. He’s all about his business, taking orders and making burgers all day, so he’s pretty unaware.”
Do you feel bothered by this, View?
“For me or any couple, I see it as encouragement, looking at things positively. When negative news comes up, instead of thinking it’s about this or that couple, I prefer to send support to each couple.”
What will you give Mac for his birthday on 20 March?
“Please help me think, everyone (laughs). About Valentine’s gifts, we didn’t give anything. Since his birthday is close, I’ll prepare a special gift. Mac was born in early March, and I’m in April. But nothing yet. When I have something, you’ll see. I’m thinking now, no spoilers here. It’ll be a surprise since we never do surprises.”
Do you think you’ll pick a gift he’ll like?
“I think so. Mac is not picky. Anything is fine. It’s more about the feeling. He’s not into brand names. Whatever I give—writing a card, making a photo, baking a cake—anything given with heart is fine.”
Have you told him about your gift plans?
“I just say I like everything (laughs), so I won’t refuse. Right now, I’m just focusing on saving up. We’re building a house and planning to marry soon, fingers crossed.”
Waiting for the house to be finished first?
