Rocky Apologizes to Father Surachai Sombatcharoen Mother Shares Parenting Approach and Why She Never Resented Him

Although it was painful, the mother Jeab Atthapornpim Komolsane mother of Rocky Surabotin and their three other children have always forgiven father Surachai Sombatcharoen despite the deep hurt caused by their father. Rocky also apologized to his father Surachai through the media, saying he never intended to make him feel bad and no child wants to see their father being criticized.

- Rocky described the incident that led to his father asking him to change his surname, saying, "Because of my sharp tongue, and things I said on a show where I blamed this and that, and maybe I gave poor examples, it must have upset my father and many others. I apologize. I apologize to my father—I shouldn't have said things that made him feel that way. I also apologize to everyone as a son. I didn't mean to. Eventually, on the show, it was repeated that this is my father, so I realized I had to tone it down. I didn't want to talk about it anymore on the show. No child wants to see their father, no matter what he is like, being criticized by the whole country. When my father gets criticized, it feels like I'm being criticized too."

- When asked if she was angry with her husband or if her feelings had changed, mother Jeab said, "There is no such thing as anger because my heart feels completely broken."

- Rocky said, "Right now, I don't know what my father is thinking because it's not like the father we used to know. He's not the father we once knew. I can't repay him; he also scolded me harshly. This is why I didn't want to come out and speak at first, because if I did, he'd lash out at me. As for how this will end, honestly, none of us wanted to come out, but we had to ask why it escalated to this point."

- Ding Kamolchanok, the youngest daughter, told her father Surachai, "I will always be your daughter and love you. But if today you won't protect me, I will no longer be in your life. I only ask that you stop hurting my heart, and the hearts of my siblings and mother. I can't take it anymore. It's more than I can bear."

- When asked why mother Jeab has loved and forgiven this man all along, she said, "Every woman who has a family and a husband sees him as her family. We have to care for, protect, help, and support him in every way. Whatever brings him peace of mind—when he is with us, at home—he should be happy and comfortable. I have done my best in every way. I have never regretted it because I gave my all. No matter how things end, I have something to be proud of. Those times just passed like a storm. After the storm, I look at my lovely children. There's no such thing as forgiveness because I have moved on. I have a good life. I am no longer dwelling on it. He can have a good life, and I have a good life with my children. This isn't about a surname or a career. I am proud that everyone is a good child, capable and standing on their own."

- Mother Jeab also said that she came forward today because, in 47 years, she had never spoken publicly before. But seeing her children like this, she decided to speak and let everyone hear what has happened over those 47 years. She doesn't like going to the media. When asked if she had anything else to say, she replied, "No, it has all ended a long time ago, two years ago. I have already forgotten and I am happy now."
