Although there have been family problems concerning Surachai Sombatjaroen, his father, but Rocky Surabodin Sombatjaroen, the only son in the family, continues to work hard. Previously, Rocky revealed that he has debts totaling nearly 10 million baht because a close friend cheated him and fled to America, leaving Rocky to repay the debts alone.
Recently, Rocky updated Thairath Entertainment's Jack Green about his current debt status, saying he is still working to pay off the debt, working from 9 a.m. to midnight doing anything that earns money. He needs to make 200,000 to 300,000 baht a month to cover debt payments, insurance, and his child's tuition.
Rocky said he continues to repay debts, working every day, sometimes 3-4 jobs daily. He works from 9 a.m. until almost midnight, then reviews his work until 1 or 2 a.m. daily to pay debts and earn money for his child, covering insurance and tuition fees.
Regarding the debts borrowed by his friend, in fact, there’s not just that one amount. There are other friends involved, but now they have disappeared. His friend is now in America. There is also company debt from a business venture with a partner that resulted in losses; that partner fled and left Rocky to repay alone. Additionally, there are some family debts.
Asked if things have improved, he said the situation is manageable and under control. It’s not a state of confusion. Currently, the total debt is just under 10 million baht, down from the original amount. But he still needs to earn 200,000–300,000 baht monthly. Without debts, he says he might be wealthy, but life requires struggle.
Fortunately, his child is on school break, so he doesn’t need to pick him up from school. He asked his child if he could skip summer school because he is still young, and he wants to use afternoons to work and earn money first.
Regarding the comment that he uses his father's surname to earn a living, Rocky said he doesn't want to appear overly confident. Most of his work is his own, including some singing but less frequently. Mostly, he hosts shows and does live streams. He strives to make a living his own way, often invited by fellow actors to join live streams.
His motivation comes from his son, who stays focused without distractions and looks forward because of him. This matter is very sensitive to Rocky as he wants it resolved soon. His son is beginning to understand and might have to face difficult truths in the future.
His father named his son "Sukananap Sombatjaroen". Rocky himself suggested this name to his father, who asked if he was sure and warned not to change it. Now, the name has been changed, but his child still uses the original name given. How his child will feel growing up is up to him.
When asked about his feelings toward his father, Rocky said his father often thinks he doesn't love him. But as Rocky has said before, whether as lovers or spouses, those relationships may end. But when there is a child, separation is heartbreaking. They have to care for their mother, siblings, and family, just as their father cared for his family and them. They also care for their mother and siblings emotionally.
