Young leading actor Phon Nawatsn is another celebrity currently overwhelmed with work, especially with his latest film, a horror investigation thriller about Thai social beliefs titled "Phra Mai," attending the gala premiere at Siam Paragon with his beautiful girlfriend. Cookie Yada joined to congratulate him, and the couple gave a joint interview to update on their relationship amid marriage rumors.
Do you often surprise each other?
Phon: A little bit. When we have free time, we support each other. At first, surprises worked, but lately, we've started to predict them and get caught. I start surprising her first, so she becomes suspicious. When she plans a surprise, there are usually hints. It’s fun though.Surprisesuccessful
Cookie: The surprise for his birthday didn’t work because his manager spoiled it by flying to Nakhon Phanom.
People say you have set the wedding date?
Phon: Huh? Who’s spreading that rumor?
You previously said you’ll be ready to marry in two years?
Phon: If two years means we've been dating two years.
Cookie: That’s the first time I’ve heard that today.
Are you seriously in love and plan to marry?
Phon: Well then.
Cookie: How should I put it? (laughs)
Do you really talk about this?
Phon: We talk a bit, just a little.
Cookie: There’s no concrete wedding plan, but we do discuss our near future—what we want to do in one or two years.
Will you be ready in two years?
Cookie: (laughs) Ready as can be, just a little more.
Phon: She says she wants to work and achieve her goals first.
Cookie: Not yet, there are many things we want to do. We'll talk more when the time is closer.
If you have to propose on one knee, does it have to be on a running track or marathon course?
Phon: Maybe while running? Do I have to finish running first? (laughs)
Cookie: I want to prepare first. When we run, we’re not looking our best, so I’d like to touch up my lipstick. The marathon course is tough; can we pick another?
Phon: Suppose it’s a marathon course. We’ve been through tough times, so something good could come of it. It depends on the moment.
Cookie: I’m prepared for every course.
Running a marathon with false eyelashes?
Cookie: 42 kilometers? Maybe. Since we’re talking about it, I must be ready and inform the makeup artist.
Phon: I’m gathering information gradually. When the timing is right, and work and everything align, it might be time.
Do you think a surprise proposal will succeed?
Phon: Surprising someone is hard. It’s exciting but requires planning. We’ve been together long enough that any unusual behavior is noticed—spoiled.
Do you want to surprise her at least once?
Phon: I don’t really want to talk about that here.
Have you bought a ring or measured her finger size?
Phon: I’ve collected all that information, yes.
Do you have spies among your friends?
Phon: Not yet. I still need to gather more details.
Are you shy?
Cookie: A little bit. (smiles shyly, blushing)
Will you be ready this year?
Cookie: Maybe not this year yet. (smiles)
