Millionaire Likay star actor Bank Sornram Nampech expressed that he wishes he could have every part of his body on his forehead because he is extremely stressed. This is due to rising oil prices, with government agencies stating they can no longer hold prices steady because transportation routes have been disrupted. The Strait of Hormuz has been blocked by Iran, and major oil-supplying countries have suffered bombings at production sites, forcing export suspensions.
For each Likay performance by the "Sornram Nampech" troupe, at least 5-6 trucks hauling the stage are used, with monthly fuel costs estimated in the millions of baht! If an event requires faster timing, even more fuel is consumed. If oil prices continue to soar beyond affordability, Bank Sornram says he will need to discuss with his mother how to resolve this problem.
"The entire troupe's fuel expenses total nearly one million baht per month. We have four large trucks and multiple trailers traveling back and forth. For example, one event in Phetchaburi and another in Nakhon Sawan. The faster we need to go, the more fuel we consume. We have to figure out how to keep the host's fees stable.
I need to consult my mother again because raising prices could upset the hosts. We aim to choose the best method that won't burden the event organizers."
