Nawat Apologizes to Anutin After Remarks on COVID-19, Thanks Him for Withdrawing Lawsuit

After Nawat Itsaragrisil the big boss of the Miss Grand beauty pageant revealed that Anutin Charnvirakul filed a defamation lawsuit against him at the Criminal Court due to a live broadcast in which he referenced COVID-19, alleging that Anutin proposed a draft Emergency Decree to limit liability for healthcare personnel treating COVID-19 patients, effectively granting amnesty to himself and associates by using medical staff as a front—a matter that became a public controversy earlier.

Recently, it seems everything ended well after mediation and the lawsuit was withdrawn. Nawat posted a statement and apology regarding the incident on his page, Nawat Itsaragrisil - Mr.Nawat Itsaragrisil, with the following content:

"Regarding my live broadcast on 9 Aug 2021 via my Facebook, which was subsequently shared and conveyed in a manner that led outsiders to understand the situation at the time as follows:

Anutin Charnvirakul, while serving as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Health, and member of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration, was said to have proposed a draft Emergency Decree limiting liability for healthcare personnel treating COVID-19 patients to grant amnesty for himself and associates by using medical staff as a front.

2. Subsequently, Anutin Charnvirakul filed a criminal defamation lawsuit against me at the Criminal Court, case number Or.2029/2564, red number Or.207/2566. The court facilitated mediation, and this offense is subject to settlement.

3. I admit that my actions caused damage to Anutin Charnvirakul and will publish the message "I apologize for the remarks made about Anutin Charnvirakul on my Facebook."

4. Anutin Charnvirakul has understood my actions. I will post this message on Facebook as stated and he has kindly withdrawn the lawsuit against me today.
