After Kao Supassara previously shared about one of the toughest periods in her life during work, when she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids while filming the series Tee Yai Rued Dao Jon. She revealed that during that time, her mental state was unstable, her period lasted every day, some days with very heavy bleeding requiring multiple outfit changes, and sometimes she fainted in the bathroom from lack of oxygen, even injuring her chin.
Recently, Kao recalled the day she discovered the fibroids, saying
she was quite shocked because there were two fairly large lumps. At the time, she was studying in London, and her period had lasted for more than three weeks. Normally it would last only 5-6 days. She endured it and planned to get checked in Thailand, but after returning, she still didn't get examined because of work. Her period lasted for a month and then stopped, so she thought it was fine.
When she started working, she felt sharp pain in her lower back near the tailbone. She went to the doctor and an ultrasound found two large lumps inside, measuring 3 cm and 4 cm.
That period was very tough because she was filming the series Tee Yai Rued Dao Jon at a very demanding location. She lost a lot of blood; her pants were stained 3-4 times. The costume team had to prepare 3-4 pairs of jeans for her because sanitary pads weren't enough. She had to wear adult diapers, but even those couldn't contain the bleeding, which soaked through like someone severely bleeding.
Kao further explained that initially, the doctor wanted to operate, but she wanted the lumps to shrink first so that the surgery would not damage surrounding tissues or nerves, which could cause significant harm and slow recovery. So, she was given hormone injections to shrink the lumps, but they did not reduce in size. When it became unbearable, she had surgery. From the day the lumps were found, it took five months before surgery, during which she bled continuously.
Kao also recounted that she once fainted in the bathroom and hit her chin. Luckily, it didn't cut open, so they just used a plaster to hold the skin together without stitches; otherwise, the scar would have disfigured her face.
She also urged all women who suffer from severe abdominal pain every month to get checked without fear because it is very important and not far from anyone. She encouraged everyone to take care of themselves, especially their diet, emphasizing that reducing processed foods would be beneficial.
She was about 29 when this happened, now 30, which she considers early. There is a chance it could recur, so she plans to follow up every month. She has recovered now and is taking care of herself, trying not to eat meatballs and sausages even though she likes them, although there is no research proving processed foods cause this; it's just her own belief.
