It has become a hot drama in the comedy circle when Ice Thalachanun the wife of the late comedian Neng Mengjai, posted a sharp message on her personal Facebook saying, “The event is over, so stop pretending. Don’t push me, I don’t want to do this.”
This caused many comedians to be linked to the drama, including Ball Chuenyim and Yuri, Ball's wife. However, Ice later clarified to Jack Green of Thairath Entertainment that neither of them were involved. The drama also extended to Nut Jutarat, the wife of Chok Rothe, after Nut posted a clarification about attending Neng Mengjai’s funeral due to her close relationship with both Neng and JJ, Neng’s ex-wife. Some accused her of seeking attention and tagged JJ’s Facebook, fueling heated online debate.
Recently, three well-known comedians, Jazz Chuanchuen, Ball Chuenyim, and Nai The Comedian, along with Jang Punnasa, Jazz’s wife, went live on TikTok to discuss the issue. Jazz questioned why every matter gets linked to Ball. The initiator of the issue never followed through, Jang said. Ball responded, “Even on the day Neng passed, he wasn’t with me, right? I’m confused. What image am I creating?” Jazz added that as long as Ball wasn’t mentioned, it was fine. Ball said, “Yes, that’s why I said, but you posted like this and I end up getting criticized again.”
Nai said the post clearly isn’t about them. Jazz said if that’s true, then it’s over and the rest is up to Ice to clarify. Ball added, “No, just don’t make this bigger and cause more trouble. If you don’t get involved, I won’t get attacked again. Isn’t that right?” Nai added, “Just post it yourself. Why wait for reporters to publish it? If you can give an interview, you can post it yourself. Why wait for calls asking who it’s about? That means you already know who you’re talking about. Just say it. Why make reporters defend you? What’s the point? Everyone’s reputation is damaged and people start assuming things. Then you come back to fix the damage caused by the critics, so what’s the point?”
Nai said now Chok Rothe and Nut Jutarat are also tangled in this, and it’s a mess. Nobody knows who’s who because the posts are scattered, leading to wild guesses. Jang said many are harmed, meaning people want to know what happened and who is involved. If there’s a real conflict, just pick up the phone and clear things up, because it’s over and should pass calmly. People are curious because it just happened and everyone’s watching, which causes collateral damage. Ball just wants to live his life quietly. No one is perfect; everyone has good and bad sides.
Jazz said whenever there’s drama, reporters do their job, which is not wrong. But the problem starts when people jump to conclusions first. Ball added, “That’s why I said, did Neng stay with me before? Hmm,” shaking his head. Jazz continued, “It’s messy. I’ve been through it once and won’t do it again. I used to post criticisms vaguely, ended up linked to P'Thep and everything got mixed up, making me a burden.” Ball said, “P'Thep Saisai had to go live because of it, you see.” Jazz agreed.
