The ongoing court saga for Poo Mantana shows no sign of ending soon. Recently, she had to attend three court hearings in one day and opened up about her legal dispute with lawyer Kaew, as well as the drama that severely impacted her, leading to the loss of her father.
Poo Mantana, accompanied by her lawyer, arrived at court in a case where she is being sued by lawyer Kaew for defamation over posts containing the words “scoundrel” and “Kaew.” She insists that the term “Kaew” refers to a character in shadow puppet theater, a Southern Thai term used to address someone when displeased, without specifying any actual person's full name. Meanwhile, “scoundrel” was posted vaguely, based on the legal principle that to be defamatory, one must clearly specify how someone is scoundrelly.
Beyond the lawsuit against her, Poo Mantana has counter-sued lawyer Kaew, claiming she had hired him for 150,000 baht to handle a check law case, but he failed to attend scheduled meetings and submitted false reasons to the investigator to postpone appointments. This nearly caused her to be sued for submitting false documents herself. So far, she has received only 100,000 baht back, with 50,000 baht still outstanding.
During the interview, Poo opened up about the nearly three-year-long legal battle's toll, explaining it led to her family being bullied, and the most severe impact was her father who became so stressed he lost appetite, suffered sleeplessness, was hospitalized in the ICU, and passed away late last year. She also questioned the opposing party's manhood regarding their actions toward her and her family.
