Nida Sirayutthayothin, Tangmo's mother, the mother of Tangmo Nida, the well-known actress who died after falling from a speedboat in the Chao Phraya River on 24 Feb 2022, recently came to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) carrying several important documents to support the case.
Before entering, she told reporters that today she brought important documents related to the case, including documents about her daughter. She said she did not want to talk much about her daughter because she felt pity. She mentioned a photo of her daughter's leg showing stab wounds and exposed fat, which the DSI had requested for a long time but had not yet received. She asked for help to provide the original photo to assist the investigation.
She explained that it has been very difficult to obtain this photo; it was requested six months ago but never delivered. The four photos they currently have were altered and cannot be used, so they want the original photo.
She said they must trust the investigators and that she believes their findings. At first, before knowing how her daughter died, she was indifferent because she did not know why her daughter drowned. But in the past month, she has learned the cause of death. Her grief shifted to knowledge—knowing who did it and why—which somewhat eased her sorrow.
Regarding hopes for the case, she said the DSI has done a lot. From a public perspective, she believes the DSI has gathered about 300 pages of evidence and should now treat it as a special case.
When asked what makes her confident that her daughter did not drown, she said she is very sure. She has seen the evidence that Professor Panthep has and has followed media reports closely. She acknowledged facing harsh criticism, which showed her that some people dislike her, even though she is the mother of a deceased child. They want to portray her negatively.
She said she has seen who did it through the media in great detail, including video clips. She watches every night and follows many channels until the information is ingrained in her mind, allowing her to piece together what happened and who was responsible.
She added that she has not yet discussed this information with her lawyer or the DSI. She came today to have a meeting. About a key witness she mentioned before, she said she must talk first and cannot reveal details yet to avoid compromising the case, but she believes prosecution is possible.
She revealed that no one from the boat has contacted her at all. Previously, there were still flower baskets sent, but now all contact has stopped. They have not communicated since Tangmo's death about four years ago. The payments have been made as agreed; if it was for 10 years, they would pay for 20 years until completion. They have always paid on time on the 1st of each month. The agreement was made with her son, who has taken responsibility for Tangmo, but they have not spoken.
When asked if she wanted to talk to anyone from the boat or anyone special, she said she wants to talk to her son but is considerate of him. If given the chance, she would ask many questions, which would be difficult for him to answer.
When asked what she most wants to ask, she laughed and said, "What I want to ask is kind of funny. Can I ask about something unrelated to the boat? I'm really laughing. I want to ask Por why Benz has to dress so revealingly when she sings (laughs). I want to ask Por, but he doesn't answer my calls. Look at that, it's too much." She also said there are still many unresolved concerns about the people on the boat.
When asked if Tangmo has ever appeared in her dreams, she said she dreamed that Tangmo invited her to act, then Tangmo came out of the morgue room, but her body was entirely darkened for some unknown reason. Another close friend, Paeza, also dreamed of Tangmo looking dark. Perhaps this means she has passed away. This was a heavy dream that scared her two months ago. But she believes Tangmo has been reborn. On the fourth anniversary of Tangmo's passing, she asked Paeza to make merit for her, while she herself prayed and paid respects.
