Pok Piyatida and Tuck Napatsaran have opened up about their simple yet caring lifestyle as a couple, especially regarding their approach to food and eating.
Tuck revealed that the key to caring for Pok lies in the food. Although she is an easy eater, she has one important condition: no repetition of dishes. Tuck compares himself to a chef who must solve a new challenge every day—for example, serving fish one day, then switching to shrimp or meat the next to avoid monotony.
Cooking for a loved one is a way to pass on good feelings, just as Tuck experienced from his mother during childhood. Food expresses our goodwill and love. This motto brings Tuck joy every time he steps into the kitchen.
Pok said: "I'm basically an easy eater, but easy with variety. I can eat anything Tuck makes. For example, if he cooks crispy pork, I'll eat it for one or two meals, then ask for something different. Mostly, I eat whatever is available at home—I don't need to go out searching, but it can't be repetitive. To change dishes often, one has to be able to do this. I feel that Tuck enjoys cooking and it challenges his skills as a chef."
Tuck said: "The challenge is fun. Sometimes I cook in the morning, and if I make enough for both of us, when she enjoys it, I’m happy. If not, I feel bad too. We have to take good care of each other. It’s truly a challenge. There are days when shrimp repeats and is not allowed, or when we run out of fish—what to do then? For Pok, the fallback dish is egg fried rice because it’s so simple."
Pok added: "But actually, it’s hard to make delicious egg fried rice—it needs to smell right from the pan. One day when Tuck wasn’t home and the housekeeper made it, it wasn’t tasty."
Tuck said: "It probably wasn’t the husband’s cooking but rather the soy sauce or seasoning. I loved cooking from childhood—like picking ivy gourd leaves from the backyard to boil—playing with food that you could actually eat."
(They said that good cooking must come with love?) "That’s true. I have to say I love cooking for her because it reminds me of my mother. I have cooked for myself since I was a child. I feel that sharing food with someone you love is something you can do for a lifetime, just like my mother has done for me until now." "Every time my mother cooks, there’s a good feeling. I want to pass that feeling on to her. Food shows our goodwill and love."

Regarding her beauty, which many admire for its youthful look, Pok revealed her secret: she always asks her husband first, "Do I look beautiful today?" to check and receive positive energy from his compliment. Tuck, as a good husband, responds by looking her in the eyes.
