As the durians near harvest, he faces multiple challenges, including rising premium diesel prices and increasing costs for fertilizers and orchard maintenance. Chakrit revealed that despite his concerns, as the orchard owner, he must continue to push forward.

Chakrit shared about his management approach, saying he has discussed with his wife plans to try to maintain the current prices for as long as possible to keep their loyal customer base and allow everyone to enjoy quality durians at affordable prices.

(Asked if the oil prices are a heavy burden?) Definitely, because we have to transport durians from Chanthaburi by heavy trucks. Each shipment requires careful calculation to be cost-effective. Durian can’t be stored for months; unsold fruit means losses. But we try to raise prices as little as possible so customers can still afford them, and we can stay in business. It’s a compromise from both sides.

Adapting with processed durian products, expanding into the Vientiane market. Beyond fresh durians, Chakrit is preparing for the off-season by launching a new product line to extend the shelf life of durians, including cheesecakes and various processed snacks that can be frozen for up to a year and refrigerated for up to seven days.
