After Ice, the wife of Neng Mengjai, gave a detailed explanation addressing the controversy over Neng's funeral expenses, stating that
"Initially, Ice and her family intended to hold the funeral at Wat Wang Nam Khao in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom Province, since Ice's family is from Nakhon Pathom and Neng passed away at Ban Phaeo Hospital nearby. However, after consulting with Ball, it was decided that for the convenience of fellow comedians wishing to pay respects, Ball recommended holding the event at Wat Klang Khlong Si, Pathum Thani.
Ball agreed to host the funeral for three nights, March 19-21, 2026, with cremation planned for March 22, 2026. Later, Father Mam and Mother Mod wished to pay their final respects, so the funeral rites were extended for another three nights, March 22-24, with cremation on March 25, 2026.
The amount of 32,000 baht was the remaining money in the donation box after the cremation. This box was placed by Ball during the second night of the funeral rites and was designated for collecting donation envelopes and funeral contributions.
Ball instructed that the money in the box be used to cover expenses for all funeral nights. Ice placed all donations and contributions from the first night into this box, including items given directly to her and her family by relatives and friends. Ice did not keep anything separately. All funeral expenses were paid from the money in the box as per Ball's instructions.
Ice did not act out of greed as accused. She and her family kept clear accounts of income and expenses. Ice is unaware if anyone else collected donations or contributions without placing them in the box.
But Ice affirms that she did not keep any donation or contribution money for herself. She thanks everyone who donated and assisted with Neng's funeral and confirms that every baht was spent according to the funeral's purpose, including merit-making activities like almsgiving for Neng daily.
Father Mam gave the remaining 32,000 baht in the box to Ice to keep for merit-making for Neng, which she will certainly carry out. Ice expresses gratitude to all involved in organizing Neng's funeral. If there were any shortcomings that caused dissatisfaction, she apologizes, but she and her family tried their best to cooperate and make the funeral as good as possible."
After Ice's explanation about the funeral money, Thairath Entertainment News recently inquired with Ball Chernyim. Ball confirmed that he personally covered all expenses for the first three nights of Neng's funeral, including the concert on the third night—stage, backup performers, flowers, coffin, everything.
Only for the last two nights did Ball allow Ice to collect 1,200 baht in donation envelopes during the prayer sessions. Ball wants Ice to clarify details fully and speak the truth because the issue affects many parties. Regarding the 32,000 baht Ice said Father Mam gave her, Ball said he was unaware as he was not present on the cremation day.
