The controversy arose regarding the ashes of the late comedian actor Nen Mengjai. They remained in a storage room at Wat Klang Khlong 4 despite the funeral having taken place several days earlier, sparking heated discussion online.
Recently, Ice Thalatchananat, Nen's wife, accompanied by Guitar Patcharamanuch Meemark, Nen's eldest daughter, arrived at Wat Klang Khlong 4 in Pathum Thani province. Both wore black attire and face masks amid media coverage.
While waiting for the temple to open the storage room to handle the ashes, Ice said she would not comment further as she had already posted everything. When asked about future plans for Nen, Ice replied that she would complete all necessary arrangements. Regarding Por Choo from Wat Sawet, apologizing through the media and whether they would discuss matters or take legal action, Ice said they would talk again later and that she now has a lawyer.
Ice then confirmed she was unaware the temple had stored the ashes there. The temple had assured them the ashes would be well cared for. Seeing the situation caused discomfort, but she insisted they did not abandon Nen's ashes. Since Ice's family is Chinese, they must observe auspicious dates, as Ice holds
When asked if she was shocked to find the ashes in the storage room, Ice said yes, she was extremely upset. Asked if she had previously checked with the temple about how the ashes were kept, Ice answered yes, as they trusted the temple to keep them properly. However, upon seeing the situation, she was shocked and uneasy, as she had not known before.
When asked if the temple might think they had passed the responsibility onto them, Ice denied this, saying she had been in communication with the temple about timing and rituals. After Nen's cremation, Ice regularly made merit for him and did not neglect his ashes.
Asked if she wanted to say anything to the public, Ice said she wished people would listen to her side, as she has explained everything and has all the evidence. Asked if she felt sad about what happened, she said she was very, very saddened.
