Regarding the drama over the ashes of Nong Mengjai, the famous late comedian, the issue was resolved after Ice Thalachanun, Nong's current wife, agreed to share the ashes with the family and children to perform the floating ash and religious rites. Recently, Nong Mengjai's family, including Guitar Patcharamanjoo, the eldest daughter, and JJ Yuwachat, the former wife, along with relatives and entertainment industry figures, traveled to attend the comedian's floating ash ceremony at the Bang Pakong River near Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan in Chachoengsao Province. The event was filled with mourning and love, with fans coming to offer support. Meanwhile, Yuri, wife of Ball Chernyim, made a video call to Jazz and Jang to join in sending Nong off for the last time on the river. Nong is the second comedian to have his ashes floated on the Bang Pakong River, following Robert Saikwan.
On the afternoon of 4 Apr 2026 GMT+7, at the pier of Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan, Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province, a floating ash ceremony was held according to religious rites for the famous comedian Nong Mengjai, also known as Mr. Arthit Meemak, at the Bang Pakong River near the back bend of Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan. The atmosphere was sorrowful with mourning from family, close associates, and fans who came to offer their condolences.
Nong Mengjai's family, led by JJ Yuwachat, the former wife, along with Guitar Patcharamanjoo, Nong's eldest daughter, Pariyachat, the first former wife, and Boon, her boyfriend, as well as Nong's elder sister P'Kae, Yuri (wife of Ball Chernyim), Chok Rodhae, and Nas Jutharat (Chok's wife), gathered to send off his spirit for the last time.
The ceremony included paying respects to the river to ask for forgiveness and lighting incense to honor Luang Pho Sothon, to entrust Nong Mengjai's ashes to the Bang Pakong River. Then Guitar, Nong's daughter, placed the ashes into a boat, with Boon holding Nong's photo, to float the ashes in the river bend behind Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan. The atmosphere on the boat was full of grief before Yuri, wife of Ball Chernyim, video-called Jazz and Jang to say a final farewell to Nong before the ashes were floated, accompanied by flower scattering and fish release, following local beliefs.
Nong Mengjai's passing is another loss for the Thai comedy industry, leaving fond memories in fans' hearts forever. He is the second comedian whose family has floated his ashes in the Bang Pakong River near Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan, following Robert Saikwan, whose ashes were floated on 29 Sep 2020.
