It became a hot topic among K-POP fans when Ten Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul, the famous Thai singer and member of NCT and WayV, announced he would not renew his contract with South Korea's renowned label SM Entertainment but confirmed he will continue activities as a member of NCT and WayV.
On the Instagram story of @tenlee_1001, Ten Chittaphon posted a statement about this matter in three languages (Korean / English / Thai) with the following content:
"Hello, I'm TEN.
"Ten years have passed in what feels like a blink." Today, Ten deeply understands this phrase because when he opened his eyes, he realized that a decade had already gone by since his debut with SM as a member of NCT U in 2016.
Looking back, every moment Ten has shared with everyone as a member of NCT, WayV, the SMTOWN family, and as "TEN"—whom everyone knows and has given love to—has been truly valuable and meaningful to him. Every memory, every laugh, and every word of encouragement will always be treasured in Ten's heart and bring a smile whenever he thinks of them.
As Ten approaches his 10th year on this journey, he has begun to seek new challenges, growth in a different environment, and to discover himself in new ways. After much reflection and open, sincere discussions with members and SM staff, Ten has decided not to renew his contract with the company.
SM will always be the "home" that Ten loves and feels connected to. It is the place where he learned, grew, and became the Ten he is today. Every opportunity he received there will be kept close to his heart forever. Ten is very proud to be the first Thai artist to debut and grow here, and he wants to thank everyone who has traveled alongside him for the past 10 years.
Ten is the TEN he is today because of everyone. He sincerely thanks the members and all SM staff for understanding and supporting his decision. Most importantly, he thanks his fans, Czennies and WayZenNies, who have always given love and stood by him. Your love is the power that has brought Ten this far, and it means so much to him.
From now on, Ten will continue activities as TEN of NCT and WayV. At the same time, he is very excited to show everyone many sides of Ten as a solo artist—"TEN" who is growing and evolving!
