It became a widely discussed topic online after Nikki spoke candidly on a popular show about his current financial situation. He admitted to having monthly expenses of up to one million baht, which shocked many people because, in this economic climate, earning a million baht per month is not easy.
However, Nikki clarified that the one-million-baht monthly expense is not new but something he has borne for 5-6 years. The main expenses are divided between taking care of his family, which he considers a major responsibility, and covering costs for the team he has always worked with.
Asked about appearing on a show where people were shocked by his monthly expenses?
"Oh, that's not exactly true. These expenses have been this way for a long time, brother. But these costs include my car installment payments. I've almost finished paying because I put down a large down payment, so the monthly payments are small but still costly. There are also company expenses. Actually, it's about this amount. I've been carrying these costs for several years, but no one asked before. I've been doing this for 5-6 years. So when the total comes up, it surprises people."
What helps you feel like you can get through this?
"Yes, really, I get through it because I have my younger colleagues. The reason we have so many younger ones is because everyone is hardworking. I think this way because everyone has their own personal responsibilities, like parents to take care of. If we cut expenses and reduce company costs, these younger colleagues would have to support their own parents, so everyone works hard."
Do you have to work more as well?
"I think I do work more. During Songkran, I worked every day. Yesterday, I went to Buriram, arriving in the morning, then went to Khao San Road, and in the evening worked again. Tomorrow morning, I'm going back to work in Buriram. So I have to work every day."
Is it something you have to force yourself to do?
"But I actually enjoy working, brother. I feel lucky to still have work because many actors are struggling a lot these days. I often talk with Jack and say, 'We are lucky. I'm not handsome or talented, and I stutter when I speak, but I still have work, so that’s lucky.' So whenever I have work, I always do it."
"Others are struggling a lot. These days, among actors my age, only a few remain working. If you look nowadays, I have work, so I consider myself okay and lucky. We just keep working until no one hires us anymore."
Are your expenses still one million baht per month nowadays?
"One million baht per month, but my car payments will be finished soon. I just bought the car recently, on my birthday. But by the end of this year, the payments will be done. Once the car payments end, the expenses will drop to 500,000 baht. The car payments are expensive, but luckily the house is fully paid off. My mother and Maus are okay. So it’s not difficult. If I sell my car and house, I could still live comfortably."
