Tik Jesdaporn Returns to Acting After a 3-Year Hiatus

Having been away from acting for over three years due to focusing on many other tasks, the popular actor and host has been absent for quite some time. Tik Jesdaporn. He was heavily rumored to have stopped taking acting jobs, but recently he revealed that although he has been living a reclusive life, he continues to accept work as before. He shared that

why he decided to return to acting.

In our profession as actors, we still have ongoing passion. At the same time, we wait for the right moment and for roles that reach out to us, and we also consider if the role suits us. A considerable time has passed—over three years. Before that, I worked on the project The Brothers and managed artists. Recently, I had some free time, a director contacted me, and after discussions, I felt the director's concept resonated with me and had some depth.

What made you decide not to act before? What caused that?

When I was handling many things, I couldn’t do everything simultaneously, so I focused on one thing at a time. After finishing a drama, I did the Navigator show, then the 'Jao Pa Khao Muang' project, and later a music label project. So I focused on each in turn. At that time, I didn’t expect to have a chance to act again, but I never closed the door completely. I always kept the opportunity open. This time was a good opportunity to reconsider many things, such as timing and how I felt. Many factors influenced my decision.

So the idea that you have gone reclusive and stopped working in entertainment is untrue?

No, it’s not true. Going into the forest or communicating about nature was because I wanted to devote most of my time to that. But if I have time and receive interesting offers at the right moment, I believe I can still collaborate.

Returning immediately means you have a lot of rust to shake off?

From my perspective, since I don’t consider myself a very skilled actor, it’s like starting anew—working with new projects, new crews, and new co-actors. I see it as a metaphor for 'knocking off the rust.' It motivates me to do something that excites me, keeps me active, and fuels desire. I want to return to the starting point in every way. That’s how I think about it.
