After the southern country singer Jenny Ratchanok Suwanket also known as Jenny Daimeudtasodchuen, live-streamed explaining that she was hired to sell a famous pie brand for 50,000 baht, but this pie brand has a trademark dispute with another brand. The other brand has a similar name but is not actually a pastry; it involves a trademark issue.
The opposing pie brand then sued Jenny, but the lawsuit is very detailed, as if Jenny were the producer. In reality, she was only hired to sell. The opposing party claims Jenny collaborated with the pie brand in trademark infringement and demands compensation of 70 million baht.
After Jenny’s live stream, many controversies arose. Some viewed it as staged content to create buzz, while others questioned why Jenny, who is not the producer, was sued and whether the lawsuit for 70 million baht was simply an attempt to profit.
Following these controversies, most recently, Jenny Daimeudtasodchuen posted a clarification on her Facebook page, Ratchanok Suwanket, stating, “I want to sincerely confirm that the 70 million baht lawsuit is not content. I never wanted any trouble or problems with anyone, but since the court date is approaching, I want everyone to be aware and help shed light on this, as I seek justice as a person hired to sell products.”
Jenny later added further detailed clarification, saying, “I confirm that I was hired to sell pies at the same rate as other brand jobs. I have no knowledge, involvement, or stake in establishing the brand, and I was unaware of any trademark dispute between the pie brand and the opposing party until I received documents from the opposing side.”
“Actually, I have had the lawsuit documents for a while, but I only recently spoke out because the court date is near. I want everyone to know about this to help others who take on sales jobs and to seek justice for myself, nothing more.”
“To reiterate, the party suing me is not the pie brand but the opposing party of the pie brand who hired me to sell during the Jenny festival. The lawsuit involves about 6-7 people, including me and an application.”
“The opposing party filing the lawsuit is not a brand or client from the Jenny festival. I had never heard or known before that there was a brand with the same name as the pie brand, which is not actually a pie. I have no details about this dispute. I hope the court will grant me justice.”
