Previously, Om Cocktail or Om Phandaphol Prasarnrajkit officially announced stepping down from managing the Gene Lab and 19 record labels under GMM Music, while continuing to manage artists and independent labels not affiliated with GMM Music.
Recently, the Gene Lab Facebook page posted a joint statement on artist management cooperation between GMM Music Public Company Limited, Khrung Kao Company Limited, and artist representatives, summarizing as follows:
- Om Cocktail, or Om Phandaphol Prasarnrajkit, ended his management role of Gene Lab and 19 on 11 Mar 2026 GMT+7. GMM Music invited all artists for a discussion to share perspectives and mutual understanding.
- Artist contracts cannot be canceled, as this is a global standard to respect existing agreements.
- All artists remain under contract with GMM Music, but management will transfer to Om Cocktail's Khrung Kao Company, which will oversee these artists until their contracts expire. Artists include Taitosmith, Three Man Down, Tilly Birds, Adora, Famoso, Hardboy, The Darkest Romance, Pathee, Jigsaw Story, Qeetha, Gorki Gwissara, Fit Arun, Ossey, M DAOSAI, DENA, and AYEJAY.
- GMM Music will retain ownership of music copyrights and collect royalties from platforms like YouTube and Spotify, as well as from usage in restaurants and pubs. Artists will receive their standard contractual shares and may continue using all songs in live performances as usual.
- Booking jobs, shows, and endorsements will be jointly handled by both GMM Music and Om Cocktail's company, prioritizing the artists' benefits.
- For concerts and music festivals, artists will perform first at GMM Music events (such as Big Mountain) before other organizers.
- Major bands like Three Man Down, Taitosmith, and Tilly Birds agreed that GMM Show will organize at least one major concert during the remaining contract period, such as Three Man Down's concert at Rajamangala National Stadium.
Subsequently, Git from Three Man Down, representing the band, summarized the statements from GMM Music and Khrung Kao as follows:
1. Three Man Down will be managed by Om's Khrung Kao Company, but their contract remains valid to respect global agreement standards.
2. Three Man Down grants GMM Music the right to organize their next major concert (at Rajamangala National Stadium).
3. GMM Music remains the owner of all copyrights for music produced under Gene Lab, and artists can continue performing those songs.
4. Three Man Down is happy to participate in GMM Music's music festivals throughout the remainder of their contract.
5. Sales and bookings will be handled by both parties, with decisions based on the artists' preferences.
In summary, we have transferred management to Om, but the contracts were not terminated. This concerns the contracts themselves.
Throughout our journey, we experienced both joy and hardship. We thank GMM Music for their past care, the lovely staff, security guards who greeted us warmly, and housekeeping who looked after us. We truly appreciate it.
Billy of Tilly Birds, speaking for the band, wrote:
“This transition marks another step in our growth. Our goals have never changed, but now we are clearer about who we are and where we want to take our music. We thank GMM Music and Khrung Kao for finding a solution and creating a working model better suited for us. We are pleased to proceed under this agreement with the same determination. Finally, thanks to GMM Music for listening and understanding, which made this transition possible.”
Jai of Taitosmith, representing the band, wrote a statement:
“Our success as Taitosmith under Om and Khrung Kao’s management until now has always had GMM Music’s trust and support behind it. I want to emphasize for everyone to understand that neither I nor Taitosmith nor any of the artists hold ill feelings toward the company.
The success of a band depends on many factors, not just one, but on continuous collaboration among understanding parties. This led us to negotiate with GMM Music until reaching the best outcome.
