After the actress Poo Mantana Himathongkham appeared at Phra Nakhon Tai District Court in a fraud case, with Lookmee Rasamee Thongsiripraisri a famous model, as the plaintiff. The lower court sentenced Poo to 2 years in prison without suspension, after which she exercised her right to bail and planned to appeal, as previously reported.
But beyond Poo Mantana's post about preparing to appeal, she also referenced Noom Kanchai Kamnerdploy a well-known host and news anchor, who is another party involved with Poo, as well as lawyer Toi Pornsak Wipasaparnon Noom's attorney.
Regarding this issue, Noom Kanchai decided to sue Poo Mantana over these statements. Speaking on the program “Midday News” on Channel 3, he said, “I have a matter that I would call uncomfortable. This is a personal issue. Today, there is a case at Phra Nakhon Tai District Court between Lookmee and Poo Mantana. Normally, I don't talk much about Poo Mantana because I want to clarify that I have disputes with her and I have filed several lawsuits against her.
I prefer not to discuss them because I want matters to proceed legally. I have never responded on social media. The main point today is that the court sentenced Poo to 2 years imprisonment without suspension. She has the right to bail to continue fighting the case. This is between Poo and Lookmee, which I am not involved in.
However, what I want to say here is that I feel uncomfortable because there is a message that Poo posted and then took down, something like this. Take a look.”
The program then showed a screenshot of a message from Poo Mantana’s private Instagram, which read: “Surprise! The gang of Lookmee, lawyer Toi’s wife, and Noom Kanchai’s staff came to disturb Poo Mantana in courtroom 403 #PhraNakhonTaiDistrictCourt,” accompanied by the song “E Look Chang Sod” by artist Ja Nongpanee.
Noom continued, “Throughout the news since the dispute began, I have never mentioned this. But this time, I feel it is not right. I’m reading the news here, and I do not have any staff. My staff are the team from the 'Hon Krasae' show here.
But for Poo to say that Noom Kanchai’s staff went to disturb her in the courtroom, for me that is slander. This is a court; no one can behave like that. To send staff to exert power and cause disturbance—that means to create chaos. I am not involved, and this is not my case. I am here.”
“Therefore, I reserve the right to file another lawsuit over this. I will have Channel 3 issue a statement on this matter, and I will ask Channel 3 to handle this case for me. I want to make this clear now.”
“This is for fairness to me. Otherwise, people might misunderstand and think, ‘Did Noom send people to disrupt her at court?’ That’s not true. This is excessive and improper. This is a legal right I am reserving. I’m announcing this publicly. Thank you.”
