The Ministry of Commerce, through the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACIT, is holding the “17th Siam Identity Fair,” an important platform to expand markets and generate income for Thai handicraft producers under the theme “Weaving Wisdom Towards Sustainability,” from 22 to 26 April 2026 at EmQuartier shopping mall.
The “17th Siam Identity Fair,” organized by SACIT, is a key event connecting local wisdom to urban residents, younger generations, and tourists.
The event takes place in key economic areas to highlight the value of Thai handicrafts, encouraging Thais to cherish their traditional knowledge and craftsmanship, while enhancing marketing skills for producers, increasing income returned to communities, and driving sustainable economic, social, and national development.
The “Siam Identity Fair” has been held annually by SACIT for 17 years. This year’s event runs from 22 to 26 April 2026 at EmQuartier shopping mall under the theme “Weaving Wisdom Towards Sustainability.”
The fair offers a comprehensive program including viewing, shopping, and learning. Highlights include exhibition and sales zones featuring products from the Queen Sirikit Foundation for the Promotion of Handicrafts, showcasing quality Thai handicrafts such as handwoven silk and cotton, basketry, and ceramics. Another zone presents master-level Thai handicrafts by leading artisans and their heirs from across the country, featuring over 70 participants. There are also demonstrations and hands-on workshops allowing visitors to create their own handicraft pieces. Actress and senior KOL Duangdao Jarujinda joined with her niece, Miya Aminaya Jarujinda, while actress Pam Suchanuch from the TV drama “Baan Nang Ram” airing on Channel 7 HD also participated in the workshops. A special event, the “Siam Identity Exclusive Auction,” will feature over 40 Thai handicraft masterpieces for auction on 25 April 2026 from 4:30 p.m. onwards at the Moonlight Hall, Jim Thompson House Museum.
