After Poo Mantana posted a fierce clip targeting Boom Panadda Wongpudi who serves as host on the program “Clear Chud Chud” on Workpoint channel and had invited Lawyer Kung to discuss creditor-debtor issues and lending in 2024,
Boom Panadda commented, “As a creditor, how should we collect debts? And as someone who lends money, will we get it back or should we not lend? From my perspective, those who lend money during difficult times should feel grateful or at least repay it, because no one helps you except the creditor. They have to earn a living; if they can get their money back, they should.”
However, afterward, Poo Mantana posted a strong clip criticizing Boom, accusing her of distorting facts about Poo's case, which is still under court consideration. She stated that determining guilt is the court's role, not the media's nor Boom Panadda's. She also claimed Boom misled society and parties involved to sue her, creating more legal issues, which she deemed highly inappropriate, urging common sense, ethics, and neutrality. Thairath Entertainment recently interviewed Boom Panadda about the situation.
Asked about Poo Mantana, did you want to say anything?
“This is more of a curiosity. Regarding Poo Mantana’s case, it wasn’t a personal comment; I have no problem with her. But that day, as a host, no matter whom the producer brings for an interview, I professionally interview everyone.
So when it concerned Khun Lukmee and Poo Mantana, I was happy to interview. We invited Poo, but she didn’t come; instead, a lawyer representing her at the time came. This interview was done a year ago, from when the issue first arose, even before she filed about ten lawsuits.
We discussed it on the show, responding to public questions during the live stream about why money wasn’t returned. I had to be the voice for the people and asked the lawyer why the money wasn’t returned, that’s all. My comment was simple: if both parties sue, that’s fine, but the money should be returned first. Then defamation suits followed.
That was my comment that day; it wasn’t meant to mislead anyone. I spoke from my perspective: if I were in this situation and someone spoke ill of me, I would sue for defamation too, but I would return the money first so they wouldn’t have more reason to criticize. That’s the whole story.
What’s confusing is that it’s been a year, so I didn’t respond to Poo. I was just doing my job as a host, focusing on the work. The lawyer answered the questions, so I’m puzzled why suddenly I’m being criticized.
If asked whether I’d interview her if invited, of course I would. If Poo wants to come on the show, I’m happy to interview her. I’ve interviewed everyone already. As a professional host, I have ethics and don’t do private clips or behind-the-scenes attacks.
Was there only one program? Which program was it?
“Only one, just once, on the program ‘Clear Chud Chud.’ That was a year ago, and suddenly I’m being criticized. There were many programs interviewing the teacher or Khun Lukmee, dozens actually, all covered the issue at the time, but only I got criticized. It’s confusing.”
You probably won’t sue, right?
“Oh no, I still remember her kindness when we worked together on a fashion show a long time ago. So I don’t want to get involved in this matter. I’m just doing my job. Do I know her? Not closely, but I remember the good image only, because she never borrowed money from me (smiles).”
She seems emotionally volatile lately?
“Maybe she’s dealing with many lawsuits, so of course she’s stressed. I don’t blame her because I understand. What I don’t understand is that it’s been a year already, or is she just realizing it now? (laughs) I’m just working.”
