The time has come for the art rock master to visit! David Byrne has announced a world tour for his latest album Who Is The Sky?, which kicked off in September last year. He will visit fans across Asia this August, with Thai fans set to enjoy the concert on 10 August 2026 at UOB Live, M-Sphere.
Who Is The Sky? is his first full-length album in seven years, following American Utopia released in 2018. This album was crafted with award-winning producer Kid Harpoon, known for working with Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus, and includes musical arrangements by New York’s Ghost Train Orchestra throughout the album.
Besides these two main collaborators, Who Is The Sky? also features many of David Byrne's artist friends, including St. Vincent, Hayley Williams from Paramore, The Smile’s drummer Tom Skinner, and percussionist Mauro Refosco from the American Utopia album. The album was launched with the single “Everybody Laughs,” whose music video was directed by Gabriel Barcia-Colombo.
In this body of work, David often uses the word “everybody” to reflect the lifestyle of New Yorkers—living, laughing, crying, and sleeping. Byrne uses his music to tell stories about diverse people’s lives. The album is filled with songs expressing a wide range of emotions, from joyful rhythms to somber melodies. He has said in interviews that at his age, he cares less about others’ opinions and simply wants to create work that pushes him out of his comfort zone.
