Right now, everything is going great for both his work and love life for "Faye Phat." His life is very balanced at the moment, both as a company owner and an actor. When we met him, we took the chance to get an update on his recent successes and to clarify his pay raise based on merit.
Is your office very luxurious? "My office isn't luxurious at all, not luxurious at all."
Is it thriving? We've seen plenty of positive reviews. "I'd say it's steady. I’m grateful to the clients who keep reaching out and giving us opportunities. But our office isn't luxurious, and we don't use expensive things."
How about the budget for the office setup?
"Oh, no. I only ask for free stuff, all sponsored because we don’t have funds. Actually, it was a house that we just renovated the worn parts to make it usable again, nothing fancy."
So you didn’t invest heavily? "Yes, I didn’t try to spend a lot because we focus more on the output. We only spend on what’s necessary, like equipment or office space. The most important is the employees’ chairs; that’s essential. Now we have 12 employees, which is a significant increase."
Will you hire more or stay at this size? "I try to keep it compact at this size. I don’t want to expand too much because I might not be able to manage everything properly. But if in the future we have enough potential, we might expand. I want to grow steadily. I’m afraid if we grow too fast, it might become unmanageable."
I heard you have a new car. Did you buy it for work? "I bought a new car because I can’t drive myself anymore. I work at 4-5 places a day. Having a new car with a driver saves a lot of time and reduces stress on the road. Driving myself was stressful." It’s better now; I have more rest time in the car and can hold meetings there as well.
Many see it as a gift to yourself after working hard?
"It’s both a gift and a tool to help me work more efficiently. Before, when I drove myself, I couldn’t focus on calls. Now I can work anytime."
Do you feel your life has changed a lot recently?
"Quite a lot. Opportunities come with work and stress. I have to manage well because the workload has increased significantly."
With so much work, have you upgraded your pay accordingly?
"I think it increases appropriately. I don’t raise it excessively. It’s based on what suits who I am today."
Your life looks complete now, both work and love? "That’s a good thing. That might be the side the media sees. Nobody is perfect in every aspect; there are times of tiredness and difficulty. That’s normal."
When you’re tired, how does your partner support you? "We just talk normally. They help balance so I’m not stressed alone. There’s someone to share the load and listen when I need to vent."
Is your partner’s lifestyle as chill as yours, or more sweet and affectionate? "Chill. They are quite relaxed, not extremely feminine."
Have you taken them on any intense trips yet? "Not yet. I tried inviting, but I think they wouldn’t manage. I don’t want to make things hard for them; there’s a limit."
Does your partner get shy when people watch you two in public? I haven’t asked if they’re shy.
Do you have to introduce your partner to the sacred figures in Hong Kong since you went to pray there? I have to go back, but haven’t yet. Actually, it’s not just from Hong Kong; it also depends on ourselves partly.
When you prayed in Hong Kong, what kind of partner did you ask for? I asked for clarity. I used the manifesting method. As an actor, I already have a clear image in my mind of what I want, but I didn’t show any pictures.
Can you share which temple? Around Repulse Bay. I’ve mentioned it before.
When do you plan to go back to give thanks? I haven’t planned yet because I’m very busy, but I will definitely go back. Otherwise, they might be upset.
