Senior actor Wisit Yuttiyong is ill due to deteriorated heart coil balloon, heart valve leakage, and kidney disease. Senior actor Noi Nattanee Sitthisaman, an executive committee member of the Actor Welfare Foundation, represented the foundation in giving money to help cover medical treatment and hospital travel costs.
Wisit must continue treatment after doctors diagnosed severe heart valve leakage but have yet to determine the exact location. They will use ultrasound or endoscopy by swallowing a camera to examine the precise site of the valve leakage. Once identified, an MRI will be required.
The process sounds tough, and Wisit’s body probably isn’t ready. The doctor informed that out-of-pocket costs could range from 500,000 to 800,000 baht, which the family cannot afford at this time.
Normally, the second valve replacement is scheduled after 10 years, but Wisit's valve deteriorated rapidly after just 7 years, causing his health to decline. He plans to continue treatment without surgery due to financial constraints, which means more frequent hospital visits. Currently, he is on medication, with the doctor schedulinga heart echoin three monthsand monthly check-ups thereafter.
Regarding kidney disease, he must now receive injections to stimulatered blood cellsand pays for these injections himself. Wisit has high white blood cell count and anemia. The doctor prescribes injections twice a month. He has managed kidney disease conservatively without dialysis, covering medication costs himself. He receives injections at a nearby clinic, but kidney function fluctuates between stages 3-4 and 4-5. So far, he has had 18 injections to stimulate red blood cell production.
The financial burden is heavy, including travel expenses.Taxifares to the hospital each visit are significant. He tries taking the bus and then finding a taxi, butcannot manage it anymore due to age. Wisit is now 84 years old, and his wife is also elderly. Their life has become quite difficult.”
Thairath Entertainment sends best wishes for Wisit’s speedy recovery.
