People were shocked when the Facebook page"Movie Stars"shared the story of Toi Sasima Singhsiri, a former leading sexy star who was hugely famous around 1973 and had suffered a stroke, remaining in her bathroom for over two days before being found and urgently taken to hospital.
The "Movie Stars" page revealed that Rajavithi Hospital received an emergency patient admission. It turned out to be the famous former actress Toi Sasima Singhsiri, aged 71, who was admitted urgently to the ICU.
The person who brought her to the hospital was Ann, a close friend from youth who has known her for over 30 years. She revealed that Toi Sasima, now 71, lives alone with no family and currently stays at Sabai Hostel on Lat Phrao 71. Her close friends help take care of her by buying food, ordering meals, and accompanying her on errands outside the home.
On Thursday, 23 Apr, Ann arranged to meet Toi Sasima, planning to pick her up on Friday, 24 Apr, to go shopping together. However, on Friday, Ann called multiple times with no answer and no reply to messages, which was unusual because normally if Toi was busy, she would return calls within a day or so.
On Saturday, 25 Apr, calling again went unanswered all morning and afternoon. Ann then decided to call a regular vendor at Sabai Hostel to check on her. The vendor said the room was dark with no air conditioning or lights, suggesting she was not there.
Confident Toi Sasima had not left, at 5 pm Ann asked the hostel manager to open the room and check. They found Toi unconscious in the bathroom. Ann immediately called the Naresuan emergency rescue unit to take her to Rajavithi Hospital. Ann rode in the ambulance and noticed Toi's right eye was closed and the entire right side of her body was immobile, with only slight movement on the left side.
Upon arrival, the doctors admitted her to the emergency department and ICU. They diagnosed a stroke. Because treatment was not given promptly, the chance of full recovery is minimal. She remains under close medical supervision in the ICU at Rajavithi Hospital.
